Masicka’s first song of 2021 is an ode to friendships that outlast humble origins, ambitions, and outcomes.

The collaboration titled, Corner, also features Reggae singer Tarrus Riley on the glossy Dunw3ll produced melody. Though Dancehall is fraught with tales of badmind and betrayal, the two give a more gratifying account of brotherhood and support, shouting out the ones who were “solid from di start.”  Press play above.

The hitmakers’ unique voices yield compelling results, with Tarrus handling the catchy chorus and Masicka bringing his unfailing lyricism. “From mi barely have nuh shoes, ye from di roof a leak/ A try fi get to di paper, man ah maneuver street/ And now di table turn, di chune ah beat, di yute ah reap/ Wul a mi dawg dem deya, ‘memba di crew nuh weak,” he spits stoutly on the track.

RD Studios, the visionaries behind Masicka’s last video appearance in Popcaan‘s Unda Dirt , captures the immersive story with flair. The clip follows two storylines, each with reliable friends stepping in to save the other from a grisly end. One scene follows a distraught crew agonizing over a wounded friend they’ve just rushed to hospital, while the other sees a battered female whose friend personally escorts her out of her desperate situation, even squaring up with the abusive boyfriend.

As each story wraps up with a silver lining, Masicka and Riley recite the lyrics in their fresh white garb before a glowing hilltop sunset. The song’s producer Dunw3ll, the RIAA certified co-mastermind of Masicka and Dexta Daps Leader and Vybz Kartel’s Fever , also makes a cameo.

Within four hours of its 1:00 pm YouTube premiere, the view count stands at 60K.
