Romeich Under Fire For Comments About Kicking Waitress During Night Out With Shenseea In Atlanta
A day after Romeich Major said he would have kicked down a middle-aged waitress in an Atlanta restaurant for not moving expeditiously to serve his team’s dinner, the artist manager has scurried to proffer an apology after Dancehall fans ripped into him for being impolite and disrespectful.
The incident took place as his artist Shenseea, who was streaming live on Instagram Friday night whilst in the restaurant, complained about how long it was taking for their meals to be served. The Trending Gyal artist has also been put under fire for her attitude and mannerisms toward the waitress.
It even brought some fans to cite references to Muhammad Ali’s legendary quote: “I don’t trust anyone who’s nice to me but rude to the waiter. Because they would treat me the same way if I were in that position.”
During the Live feed Shenseea, declared how her hunger was becoming unbearable and said that the waitress was serving others who had arrived in the restaurant after the Romeich team. She then stated that the woman, who was serving in the crowded restaurant, deserved to be meted out some form of disrespect.
“Yuh tell mi seh di ooman really nuh put een mi orda? Hey. No, shi haffi guh get a likkle bit a disrespect,” Shenseea said.
It was at this point that Romeich declared that: “A wet wi a guh wet har up…,” and then repeated twice: “Yuh si if a Jamaica, one kick inna har bom__claat.
Several hours later, after the full live stream hit YouTube, a flurry of condemnation was rained on Romeich’s head, after hundreds of Dancehall fans, picked up what he had said about exacting violence on the waitress if the incident had taken place in Jamaica. Some also berated Shenseea for her utterances about the waitress.
“Seriously people supporting them people yah, weh treat people like dirt, Jesus take the wheel, you take the hog and wash it clean but it will always go back and waggle in the mud,” one woman commented after viewing the video on YouTube.
Another woman lamented the fact that the behavior of Romeich and his team, toward the waitress was clear indication of how they treated others of a lower socio-economic status in their own country.
“They were being very disrespectful. They have no respect for the waitress. It was there attitude why the waitress didn’t want to deal with them. I wouldn’t want to serve them either. Someone on her team said in Jamaica he would kick the waitress. I can only imagine how they treat people in Jamaica. Smh. This was embarrassing,” she said.
Romeich’s attempts to summon the restaurant manager and his directive to his crew that they “should buy out the restaurant and fire everybody”, also did not sit well with Dancehall fans, as did Shenseea’s act of turning the camera on the waitress and videoing her face for her fans to see.
“Playing with people’s job because your order wasn’t ready in time FYI a waitress doesn’t cook, the chef does. Very very rude and remember God don’t like ugly…. You guys provoking her and that’s just wrong,” one man said.
Another commented: “She is a waitress, she doesn’t cook the food, waiting a bit longer than usual will happen from time to time. I don’t see the excitement dem a create on the lady all have the woman on har live Smh… dem embarrassing.”
Apology
Following the outcry, Romeich posted an apology on his Instagram stories, saying he was not an abusive man.
“For all ladies that took what I said about waitress last night I apologise. I aint no abuser nor am I a woman beater but a hungry man is a angry man and that waitress was very rude but I apologise for saying “if a did ja me did deh woulda kick her” cause I ain’t putting no hands or feet on no one so am SORRY!!’” he wrote.

However, many women said they did not care for his apology, as he was only offering one because he realized that he had been caught red-handed and the video was doing the rounds on the internet.
“That just goes to show your arrogance and rudeness that shows just who you are!!!” one woman said while another declared: “Backhanded apology. Him only sorry tht it hit the blogs. Him too hype.”
There were others who stated that Romeich could never dare assault any waitress in his home country, as the consequences would be dire for him.
“Romeich, you damn well know you COULD NOT EVER EVERRERRR kick any waitress in Jamaica. You have lost your got damn if you THINK you could ever do that in this country bout if a did JA. No man that has never put his hands on a woman would not ever speak towards a woman like that. I don’t care how rude she was as long as she didn’t put hands on you. Yuh inna yuh head!” she said.
Another woman who served as the voice of reason, said that whilst on one hand, she understood that nobody is perfect, and that people get angry, exhausted and overwhelmed, and sometimes snap and say things that they wouldn’t normally do, his “if it were Jamaica” comments were offensive.
“The second way I look at this is one: I’m a little offended that he would say if we were in JA i would kick you because it kind of comes out like you see Jamaican people as less than foreign people. So the standard in Jamaica for the same kind of behaviour would be you can just kick down a Jamaican person whereas in foreign you have to hold your tongue in your behaviour and be more respectful,” she reasoned.
“It’s really sad when one boast how he would physically harm his own ppl but is cognisant of the repercussions of harming others. Too late for the apology, just maintain the usual Social Media line: Mi say whey Mi say an Mi Naw tek it back,” another commenter said.
Romeich and the team were in the US for a mini-tour. Shenseea performed in Miami and Atlanta over the weekend, but a scheduled New Jersey show set for today was canceled due to COVID restrictions.
