Photos of Pickachu artist Intence clad in a red and white suit, with his hair straightened surfaced on Instagram a few days ago, and they resulted in him being the subject of much ridicule.

A moderator of one of his fan pages had asked for followers not to make any offensive comments on one photo.  However, that was not to be, as the commenters piled on the pressure by jeering and hurling scornful comments at the Dancehall artist.

Intence fava Amari nw yf,” one female follower taunted.  While another announced amidst a series of laughing emoticons: “wtf they can’t be serious”.

Others thought his hairstyle was a wig and pointed it out: “Mi nuh undastan intence head yaso,” said one woman, who offloaded several laughing emoticons, while another posted: “Look I like him, but right now that look is not ready for nothing it’s the hair for me😂😂😂😂”

As the mocking continued one woman wrote: “Wha mek Amari a try dress like man now?” while another tickled follower chimed in: “Yow a wah dem yah😂” in reference to both Intence and producer Franc White who was standing beside him.

One fan commented on the fact that Intence’s pink-hued legs were a different colour from the rest of his body, and ordered him to refrain from bleaching.

“How him leg dem look suh white 😂😂😂😂 stop di bleaching dawg 👏👏😂😂😂😂😂,” he said.

Some of the male commenters, however, were not amused.

“That is what dancehall gone to bleach out Bwoy look like Michael Jackson look what dancehall gone to nothing about freaks,” one unimpressed man said.

However, on another Instagram page where three similar images were shared, some of Intence’s fans praised him for his outlandish fashion sense.

“Ok…whatever you just said😉😉love the red and white💛💛,” one woman said.

Others praised him for his ‘sparkling white legs’.

“Frank white. Gad foot dem white,” one man said while another declared: “Man foot dem white like him step outta Jesus bathroom. ..mi cucumber seed!!!”

Intence’s getup didn’t escape the scrutiny of veteran selector Foota Hype though, who commented on it on his Instagram Live feed on Monday.

“Mi si a man put out a picture now inna wig, crème out wig. White like chalk; look like a real snail and dem mi a wanda if a deh suh dancehall deh,” Foota said.

footwhite It would appear that February might not be Intence’s lucky month.  Last week he came under fire from women’s rights activist Nadeen Spence, over a scene in his Pickachu video in which he used a woman’s mouth as an ashtray.  Spence had told the Star tabloid that, who said the video was “unfortunate” and appeared “animalistic”.

“An ashtray is where you put cigarette waste so dat mean the woman nuh value much and yuh nuh respect her. Yuh basically say mi nuh have no ratings fi yuh, a use mi use yuh mouth as mi ashtray,” Spence stated.

She noted that a large part of entertainment now is about shock value and less about promoting things that are fun.

“It’s about how yuh get someone to talk about this, it’s not entertainment. That action (in the music video) is crude, it’s crass and it nuh have no artistic representation inna it. It just callous,” she said.
