Popcaan Shares Animated Video For New Single ‘Memory’: Watch
Dancehall artist Popcaan has a new release today entitled Memory, which you can tune into on his VEVO page. After the mega appeal, he drew with Tarrus Riley and Masicka’s single, Corner, Dunw3ll of Dunwell Production is back at it again, strumming up soulful and resonating impressions on the riddim of Popcaan’s newest track, Memory.
The 2 minutes and 40-second script is one of Poppy’s oldest tales and seemingly present and persisting battles. In the single, the Dancehall crooner reflects about the cruel of the cruelest that he has ever encountered – fake people.
“A carbon copy dem … dawg yuh nuh need glasses fi see seh dem don’t real. Dem a trial and crosses, mi see it seh dem don’t real,” he sings repetitively on the hook for emphasis.
Though he’s anguished by their actions, the Unruly Boss takes the opportunity to prove that he’s more than capable of protecting himself while issuing a warning to those who need to know.
“Cant depend pon di sup’ or the sarge’, big matic mi give to my dawgs … If dem ever make me feel like mi 3 points don’t safe, den mi guns dem closer. Any stray dog try circle me place, dem blood haffi run like coaster,” to say he can take matters of revenge into his own hands instead of waiting on the cops. Listen more below.
Like many of Popcaan’s releases, Memory reminds us of his other tracks, Bank And God, Friends Like These, Firm And Strong, and of course his very memorable, Family, which all demonstrates a strong intuition that he has about fake friends and backstabbers.
Popcaan recently dropped his Valentine’s Day, 4-track Ep dubbed Galentines along with new visuals for Best/ Blessed . His singles prior to Memory are Relevant, along with a double dose of inspiration with his singles Win and Medal , which all released at the start of the year.
