Quada Frustrated By Another Delay In Murder Case, To Return To Court On April 27
The prosecution failed to make full disclosure in the murder and arson case involving Dancehall artist Quada today in a scheduled hearing in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.
“Whereas they had said on the last occasion that only the fire report was outstanding, now they are saying two other documents are outstanding, the post mortem and chain of custody statements. It’s extremely frustrating and unfortunate,” Quada’s attorney, Bianca Samuels, told DancehallMag.
The judge had previously marked March 4, 2021 as the final deadline for the prosecution’s disclosure. Ms. Samuels had previously complained that her client has made no fewer than eight court appearances.
“Quada is cooperative but despondent and exasperated,” Ms. Samuels said.
Quada returns to court on April 27th. He was declared a suspect in the 2019 mob killing of Sterling Castle resident Miguel Williams. He, accompanied by his lawyer, turned himself into the police and was subsequently charged with murder and arson.
Quada, whose real name is Shacquelle Clarke, is facing a charge of the murder of 30 year old Miguel Williams in Stirling Castle Heights, St Andrew, on April 17, 2019.
Police reports indicate that an angry mob forced its way into Williams’s house and beat him before placing tires around his body. They later lit the man on fire inside the building. His body was found burnt beyond recognition. The crowd was believed to be exacting vigilante justice for the murder of eight-year-old Shantae Skyers, a student of Red Hills Primary School.
Quada — who hails from Bull Bay in Portland — is one of the Unruly Boss Popcaan’s top protégés. He is known for songs Hail, Celebration with Jah Vinci, Unruly Camp with Popcaan and Jafrass, and Have It featuring Popcaan and Skillibeng.
