Dancehall Newcomer Alandon Drops ‘Tightest’ Inspired By His Girlfriend’s Come Up From Side Chick
Dancehall newcomer Alandon recently dropped his single Tightest, the lyrics for which the artiste said were inspired by his current girlfriend, who was previously his side chick.
While he isn’t endorsing infidelity, Alandon told DancehallMag that sometimes things just happen and they turn out in a positive way. “The song was inspired by a girl, who was my side chick and, who has now become the main girl in my life,” he said.
The young artist further shared that female fans are flocking to the song because of its content, noting it is a man’s perspective on the power of female prowess.
Picking up on the song’s lyrical content, the visuals released on Wednesday (March 10) plays up the nature of the song and features cameo appearances by Dancehall artists Konshens and Kemar Highcon.
Originally from the musical community of Waterhouse where the famed King Jammy’s studio is located, Alandon shared that while relatively new to the professional side of the business he honed his musical skills from early on.
Alandon is the grand-nephew of the late sound and mix engineer Osbourne ‘King Tubby’ Ruddock, who greatly influenced the development of dub in the 1960s and 1970s.
“I want to be recognized as one of the greatest to ever do music. I was born in music, music is in my blood,” he explained.
“I am an independent artiste who is very jovial and high energy with a melodic flow like water. I combine lyrics, metaphor and punchline,” he added.
Alandon made his recording debut with Mama Don’t Cry, which was produced by Dirty Joker. Since then, he has continued to churn out songs produced by among others, producers such as Papi Don Music, Silent Addy, TJ Records, YVP, NS Music Enterprise, Crawba Productions and Thompson House Music.
