Mavado Shares Heartfelt Tribute After Death Of His Mother: “My Best Friend Gone”
Dancehall star Mavado is mourning the death of his mother, Elizabeth ‘Ms. Pinny’ Gordon.
On Saturday, the Father God singer, 40, shared a heartfelt tribute to his mother on Instagram, where he recounted Gordon’s last moments and cherished early memories. Mavado, who is currently in Florida, also lamented that he was now “all alone” and that Ms. Pinny was his “best friend”.
“After you told me that your feeling much better and your telling us that your ready to go back at your house I feel so good when you said that to me on the phone mama still can’t believe it now,” he began.
“I’m all alone can’t trust no one but I could always put my life in your hands from I was A kid. It was always me and you walking up and down Constant Spring road. Them days my little sister was just a baby. Them days I always said as a kid I’m going to buy you the biggest house and the prettiest car when I grow up l build you the biggest house. I keep my promise mama I did it and the world will remember US me and you.”
“Jah know have never felt like this before wow my best friend gone,💔” the post ended.
Ms Pinny’s cause of death is unclear, but she died suddenly at a hospital in Kingston on Thursday night. In another Instagram post on Friday, Mavado shared a recent photo of himself and the matriarch of the family.
“My everything Jah know I just don’t know what to say mama,” he wrote.
In August, Mavado documented a special moment with his mother who recounted a childhood story.
Thousands of fans sent Mavado their condolences upon learning the news. Condolences also poured in from Agent Sasco, Shenseea, Spragga Benz, I Octane, Ishawna, I Waata, Sanchez, Hoodcelebrityy, Wayne Wonder, Demarco, and several other Dancehall and Reggae entertainers.
Talent management group Pop Style Music wrote, “Miss Pinny dedeh tru everything, always solid as a rock never showing how worried she must have been when you a go tru bare tribulation and trial, just always strong without having to say many words.”
“So sad ur going tru this. She live to see you go from the Gully to the 🌍 and you put her in a mansion in the sky. Now she resting in a mansion higher than I and I. Bless up to your brothers and sisters and all her Grandchildren. Aye aye aye life bredda life,” they added.
Shenseea, Beenie Man, Dancing Rebel, Black Queen, and Shabba Ranks have all lost their mothers over the last year.
