The Marley Estate is adding the late icon’s mood-lifting ethos to psychedelics brand, Silo Wellness.

Silo Wellness operates psychedelic clinics and develops legal functional mushroom consumer products from its Oregon headquarters. Jamaica is the only country in the world where psilocybin, the natural hallucinogenic compound in mushrooms, is not illegal to grow, extract or sell. As a result, the island is poised to benefit from wellness tourism as well as mushroom sales, and the savvy Marley brand will back Silo’s efforts in the multi-year licensing agreement.

According to a release, the new deal offers Silo the exclusive worldwide rights to brand, market, and sell a distinct product line of functional and psychedelic mushrooms.

“Our family is happy to collaborate with Silo Wellness to create the first-ever global mushroom brand,” said family matriarch Rita Marley who previously managed the Tuff Gong mantle. “When Bob and I were young we followed a strict, natural diet and we would include medicinal mushrooms. Mushrooms fit with our vision of a world transformed for good through natural products.”

Cedella Marley, who currently oversees Marley Holdings said “these are transformative times in which we are living. Our family seeks to use our platform to help facilitate positive change. Mushrooms have been used for centuries, and we believe they offer a natural pathway for healing and positivity,”

The licensing agreement covers Silo’s development of a Marley brand portfolio of functional and psychedelic micro-dosing mushroom products, formats, devices and promotional items. The brand which also hosts Wellness retreats in Jamaica has pledged a percentage of product sales to be contributed towards a charitable organization to be mutually agreed upon between the Marley family and Silo.

Douglas K. Gordon, chief executive officer of Silo Wellness said, “there is deep respect for the legacy of Bob Marley, and we are honored to be entrusted as good stewards of a brand that stands for universal wellness and natural healing. We look forward to introducing a portfolio of quality branded products with instant name recognition and global visibility, enabling Silo to introduce what we intend to become the leading brand name in the functional and psychedelic mushroom category.”

Silo Wellness has been moving forward with product development, already announcing that a micro-dosing nasal spray is in the works. SILO Wellness is also celebrating the success of the first ‘Jamaica Haven Psilocybin-Facilitated Retreat’ which was held at Coral Cove in February.

The six-day, transformative experience provided the perfect set and setting for the occasion in the intimate and serene environment overlooking the Caribbean Sea.

The event was hosted by the director of the Rastafari Indigenous Village, Edward “Firstman” Wray, with participants from all walks of life including Grammy-nominated artist Maxi Priest.
