Dancehall artist Vershon makes it clear dancing is not his strong point.

The Queffa Boss, who released his EP Only One earlier this month, posted an Instagram video of himself two-stepping, solo to Half Pint’s 1997 hit song Substitute Lover, in a garden in true pandemic style.

He captioned his video saying “if can’t dance was a person, you can teach me please!!!”

Responses flooded in. Dj and broadcaster Sian Anderson from BBC1Extra commented on the post playfully saying “hahaha uncle Vershon deh yah”.

Record producer, Dellyranx was also amongst the commenters laughing at Vershon’s moves.

Seemingly in a celebratory mood Vershon’s dancing video came a day after he officially released his EP. The artist shared in a previous post how proud he was of the body of work.

Vershon, who is popularly known for his songs Inna Real Life and Heart Too Clean has been busy collaborating with Busy Signal and former rival Jahmiel in the past few weeks. While his collab with Busy Signal, Thingz was released as a part of his latest project fans will have to wait a little longer for his collab with Jahmiel, which fans would not have seen coming due to beef between the two artists.

In an interview with BBC1xtra’s Seani B in January, Jahmiel explained how the two reconciled through the U Me Love singer listening to a divine calling to connect with Vershon for a collaboration.

Vershon now resides in the US since 2020, joining a list of overseas-based Jamaican Dancehall artists including Spice, Jada Kingdom, and Shaniel Muir.

Only One can be streamed on Apple Music, Spotify, iTunes, YouTube and Tidal.
