Protoje Drops Visuals For New Song ‘Righteous’ Off Deluxe Album

Reggae star Protoje is back with an encore presentation of his 2020 album In Search Search Of Lost which now features three additional tracks and new artwork, to continue his narrative of introspection of life’s most pivotal events.

Righteous, released today, was accompanied by a new, one-shot visualizer, directed by Yannick Reid.  The song follows Still Blooming (featuring Lila Iké & IzyBeats), Still Royal (featuring Popcaan, Pa Salieu & Toddla T) on the new Deluxe edition which is available for streaming on all platforms.

In the one-shot visual, Protoje jogs through a road in a mountainous area of Kingston, Jamaica, bursting his illustrious dexterity of lyrics to the camera. In signature Protoje fashion, his effortless stream of thought motivates the listener to echo the harmonious layers of each bar.

Ziah, one of the album’s core beatsmiths, is at the helm on the brand new song.

Still Royal, a new treatment of Protoje’s notable collaboration with Popcaan, was released yesterday through Toddla T’s production and a new verse by rapper Pa Salieu.

An animated visualizer for Still Blooming was released on February 26.  The new song is a more spacious mid-tempo remix of In Bloom, where Lila Iké’s vulnerable tone whisks against a laid-back reggae-styled medley of guitar strumming; plus Protoje is in tandem as he matches not only Lila’s heart-felt sentiment, but also aligns with the nimble bounce of IzyBeats’ hypnotic bassline.

In Search of Lost Time peaked at No. 6 on the Billoard Reggae Album chart when it was released in August 2020.
