Nesbeth Hopeful Road Manager Will Pull Through After Horrific Shooting
Reggae singer Nesbeth remains optimistic that his road manager Rowland ‘Drummie’ Drummond will recover from the grievous injuries he sustained in a brutal gun attack last week.
“With our team, even in the darkness we see the light, so we are hopeful that he will pull through. We recognize that he will be climbing a mountain but he is strong and our prayers are with him,” Nesbeth told DancehallMag.
Nesbeth’s road manager is a former police sargeant.
Police reports said that last Tuesday, a 61-year-old Drummond was driving in Greater Portmore when he heard an unusual sound under his car and decided to investigate. When he stopped to check, gunmen traveling in a motor vehicle pounced upon him and during a tussle, Drummond was shot in the jaw bone. A video circulating on social media showed the terrifying extent to the man’s physical injuries after the close-range gun attack.
The men fled with Drummond’s licensed firearm and are still on the run.
Drummond is a well-known figure in entertainment as he has had a long association with Shocking Vibes, which dates back to 1993, when he was introduced to the group by singer Tanto Metro and became a part of the family.
