Reggae artist Bushman is expressing relief and gratitude after recovering his verified Instagram account which infiltrated and taken over two weeks ago, by a Turkish hacker bearing the name Olmak istediğiniz yerdeyim~.
“Yes my peeps, I’m here back on my page! After hacking the page, Olmak had deleted all of Bushman’s posts, replaced his profile photo and made one post of apparently himself singing, and even started gallivanting on Instagram Live.
Bushman had taken to Twitter shortly after the incident, to reveal to his fans that he had been hacked, not only on Instagram, but on Facebook. He had also said in a second post that suspicious-sounding persons had been contacting him claiming they were experts who could remedy the situation.
Upon recovering his account, Bushman said that he was still having some challenges as unscrupulous people had been contacting his followers pretending to be him and asking for money.
“Our apologies if you have been contacted from someone claiming to be #bushman and asking for money… this is NOT coming from anyone on our team! Please screenshot the conversation and send it to us or report the scammers via your own social media. WE STAND STRONG 👊🏾👊🏾❤️💛💚 We give thanks for your support! #IBELIEVE #nyahmanbushman #BurningBushesMusic,” the singer whose given name is Dwight Duncan wrote.
In a video post, he made a few days ago, Bushman urged his fans to be on the lookout for scammers.
“Yow, all of my fan and all of my followers, give thanks; I’m back… to all my followers, be careful of all dem people who asking you to verify, asking you for your personal information. Don’t give it up. You know what I’m saying? They are hacking and acting crazy…asking for money too, so to all my well-wishers I’m back. Rastafari,” the 48-year-old said.
Bushman, who was discovered by legendary music producers, Steelie and Clevie, is known for hits such as Call the Hearse, Fire Pon a weak Heart, Worries and Problems, Lighthouse, and Downtown. He released his debut album, Nyah Man Chant in 1997.

Bushman’s experience with hackers, came just over a year after another Turkish hacker had taken control of Bounty Killer’s verified Instagram account, deleted his videos and photos, and began using the page to sell shoes.
