The reggae band Toots and the Maytals got a fillip in sales following their win for Best Reggae Album at the 63rd Grammy Awards on March 14.

The Grammy-winning set, Got to be Tough, rocketed from number 16 to number two on the US Current Reggae Albums chart, after posting an additional 105 copies up from 28 the previous week.

To date, Got to be Tough has sold 5,314 copies.

Immediately after his death last year, the late legendary reggae singer and frontman of the Maytals, grabbed the pole position on the reggae iTunes Top 100 chart, occupying the No. 1 spot with Pressure Drop.

The Jamaican cultural icon, who died in the Intensive Care Unit at the University Hospital of the West Indies on September 11 after developing respiratory complications, held six of the top 10 positions on the reggae iTunes singles chart.

Got to be Tough was released on August 28 by Trojan Jamaica/BMG. It entered the Billboard Reggae charts at No. 9, and also debuted on Billboard’s Top Current Album Sales Chart at number 69, giving Toots his first entry there.
