Laro Don Featuring Skillibeng – Roadman Trap
In his quest of bringing a new wave of music to the local entertainment space, up-and-coming artiste, Laro Don teams with Mr. Universe deejay Skillibeng to flex his Dancehall tinged with rap infused flows. The single Roadman Trap sees the two go-getters with what they call a ‘booming trap’, the money is overflowing and Skilli’s chains are “shine like night and day” but it’s their friends that they have to keep an eye on, except Laro and Skilli are a step ahead of their snitching associates.
While many have come to know what to expect from Skillibeng with his trap hall bars, Laro says he’s on a mission to make a mark on the Dancehall scene as well, “First of all, my sound is unique. Even though I rap, the accent I use and the cadence is similar to Jamaican dancehall style” he says as can be heard on his previous tracks, Self Made, Henny & The Goose, Ps & Qs and I Can.
Logiq – Stay Strapp
Fresh off the success of his track Protection, Logiq, a rising Dancehall star in Trinidad & Tobago, released his third track, Stay Strapp. Though the title hints at a song that could be accepting of gun violence, the lyrics expose the truth of the matter. L ines like, them boy dem badmind / wa take my three points and one life me carry / me doh have spare, it’s clear Logiq is out for all those that wish him bad behind his back.
The video was directed by Logiq himself and features flashbacks to his last videos Pree Dem and Protection and pairs perfectly with the song. This is Lord Edit’s third time collaborating with Logiq and it makes sense considering the trilogy feel we get when we line up Pree Dem, Protection and Stay Strapped in their order of release. Lord Edit is also responsible for work on popular Soca-music videos like Patrice Roberts’ Tender and the fact that he’s also fit right into the Dancehall/Reggae arena means we may be hearing a lot more about him in the future. Jo Mersa Marley Featuring Busy Signal – Yo Dawg
Ever wondered what a day in the life of Jo Mersa Marley was like, Yo Dawg is his exclusive reveal of such. With his “high-grade herb” in his chalawa, he dishes about the land he just bought and the house he plans on building on it. Kiki, that’s his “Dominican ting” and the “browning,” well she’s the wife that wears the ring. There’s a new album on the way he says and one call to Busy laid down the lines for this newest release. Busy adds his lyrical flow to vaunt his prestige; he’s the “star ah di game” and just like Tom Brady, he’s got seven rings … its just “suh we ting stay,” they croon on the hook.
Mersa and his brother, Yohan Marley released the official music video for their single Brickell late last year. Earlier in July, he teamed up with Alborosie for the track Ready. Busy Signal is busying with his music, appearing on Sean Paul’s latest album, Live N’ Livin on the track Boom. His other latest releases were, Bad Gyal, Quick Move and Bring Rum that all dropped last month.
Sean Paul, Jesse Royal, Stonebwoy and Mutabaruka – Guns Of Navarone
This powerful link-up of Dancehall and Reggae acts makes for an impactful release. Guns of Navarone is an eye-opening account of a failing society in inner-city Jamaica. With Mutabaruka’s thundering voiceover of his doctrines in the intro and closing, listeners are drawn into an intriguing narrative carried by Sean Paul, Jesse Royal, and Stonebwoy.
It’s the never-ending story of gun violence among the ghetto youths who have no other way out, “There ain’t no chance in this life fi get a real shot suh man a pick up dem steal and beat … Buss shot quick, head back split, dem a buss shot fi tear through flesh and bone … its like guns of Navarone” sings Paul. Jesse talks about the “likkle juveniles blood a run” turning to violence for the littlest qualms, “least likkle ting man a draw fi dem gun. Ah weh di fun gone? Fight bruk” …the kids nowadays say thumping in the face are for the old men. Well, “Badman today, tomorrow you will die…. Uno put down the guns,” says Stonebwoy.
Faith Callender – Baddie
Bajan bad gal Faith Callender unleashes her new Dancehall banger, Baddie for all the boss gals who know how to get kinky. “Boss gyal get kinky, I like send text, nude pics to my ex, yeah no mind yuh see mi boojie. When its boss up time, money haffi make, yeah, mi stacking up mi pennies, cause mi a baddie baddie, two things I love f—ing, and money,” she confidently issues in the track.
Mixing Dancehall influences with her bad gyal soca style and flow, Faith has a pretty vibrant musical collection, check out her other tracks Werk, Ten Toes Down, and Don’t Break Yet. She recently performed a couple of her songs on the Gine On People’s Choice Awards just 2 days ago.
Jovi Ton – Sunshine & Rain
Trinibagonian artiste, Jovi Ton has some trinigood music to share for anyone needing a little encouragement in their lives right now. The optimistic crooner understands that he often has to accept life’s low points, “Where there is sunshine look out for rain,” but he’s sure in his faith and knows “Man a rise in Jesus name.”

The St. Thomas native also linked up with Dancehall artiste Chronic Law two weeks ago for a collab on the single Dirty Habits. His other new release Family First debuted prior in mid-February.
Beenie Man – Problem
Beenie Man has another badmind track, Problem. Like his previously released singles such as Badmind Is Active, Badmind People, Badmind, and Dem Badmind among several others, this one is another vent about the jealous people that don’t want to see him thrive.
Hating on everything from his ‘button down shirt and air force 1’, the house, his girl and kid to the Benz and Tacoma van that he drives, “A suh badmind stay” Beenie say, “Mi nuh know ah weh mi do dem, everything weh mi do in a life is a problem.” They cant discourage him, however, “Suh its very simple, mi a go set this example, mi as go stand up in a yuh face with me Clarks like pimple,” he lyrics with his crafty comeback.
Vybz Kartel – Stress Out, Stress Out
Don’t let the guys stress out your mind, says Vybz Kartel in this dedication to the ladies. Be proud of your ‘assets’ as a matter of fact just head his way so he can show you the appreciation you deserve.
Adding spicy new visuals to this previously released single Stress Out, Stress Out off his XRated album which debuted just over a week ago, the Worl Boss recruits a bendy video vixen to dance to the tune of his raunchy rhymes.
Jah Vinci – Basic
Dancehall singer Jah Vinci is the resident gyalis on the scene in his new music video for his track Basic. He’s serious about his money, “Nuh bodda with the check bring di money upfront” but it doesn’t compare to what it takes to be a gyalis of his stature. “Mi f—k gyal everyday, dawg yuh nuh feel a way, tap yuh gyal head a way, f—k yuh gyal today and yuh friend di nedda day, man a top gyalis and mi deven haffi say,” he brags.
Basic is No. 10 on Jamaica’s YouTube trending after 2 days of its release and is featured on Jah Vinci’s new EP, I Am The World Leader that released in January this year.
Propa Fade – Big Money
Propa Fade says he’s the real top spender wherever he goes, “6 figure n*gga, we nuh do nuh likkle digits” it’s all about “big money spending.” The new music video puts it all on display, the big house, flashy car, ice out jewels, foreign girls that only speak Spanish, and wads of cash laying around, the deejay seems to have it all.
It’s a constant tone with Propa Fade; just check out his other singles like, Account, Top Choppa and Kingpin.
Intence – Yah Now
Launching a brand new video treatment for his single Yah Now off his recently released EP, Public Enemy No.1 Mixtape , Intence is decked in a formal burgundy red jacket and pantsuit to reminisce on his two-year journey to success. It’s been an exciting route, the stage shows, T.V. interviews, and the instant shot to fame. As for the flood of emotions… “Yo dah feeling yah loud,” he sings.
In the track Intence says he’s in a place in his life now that feels good, “Yo you see dem life yah don? Mi nuh memba bout poor.” He’s his own boss, work opportunities are flowing and if mom wants $100k for a day of shopping, it’s no problem. If only people knew that all this rave makes him feel “proud.”
Jahvillani – Freaky B-tch
One Govament Dancehall act Jahvillani has fallen under the spell of freak b-tch. A trip to the strip club was all he needed to get hooked, “You a sup’n weh di worl need fi see. Nobody nuh do it like yuh … come in a mi room a right yesso yuh fi lie down,” he sings while the video plays out his rude encounter with a stripper.
Jahvillani is certainly keeping busy with his music, releasing a steady flow of tracks for the last couple of months. His latest singles are Companion and Time Bomb, a collab with Wasp, which both dropped last week. He also released John Gotti, Jackpot, and Barbie Doll this month.
