Koffee And DJ Khaled Are “Catching A Vibe”
Reggae songstress Koffee was seen “catching a vibe” with American producer DJ Khaled.
Khaled is back in Jamaica and his Instagram is filled with videos and photos of his trip. In addition to sharing the meals he’s having inside the river (yes inside it) and his many other pics of his stay, he shares that he is working on an album, Khaled Khaled, that is now 98% complete. Among the many American rappers and R&B artists giving assists to the project, are an all star team of reggae and dancehall artists from Jamaica including Buju Banton, Capleton, Barrington Levy, and Bounty Killer.
The Toast singer is seen in several of the music producer’s posts on Instagram, though it hasn’t been confirmed whether she’s also contributing to the project.
In a muted video shared yesterday, Koffee and Khaled were clearly having a great time as they listened to either a song or beat that we couldn’t hear.
“Bless up 🆙 @originalkoffee! Let the music set you free POSITIVE VIBES KHALED KHALED x @originalkoffee catching a vibe,” the We The Best CEO wrote in the caption.
Another photo followed with the reggae Grammy winner seeming to be deep in the music or “dialed into the melodies” as Khaled wrote in the caption.
Besides potentially appearing on DJ Khaled’s next album, Koffee has been busy in the last couple of months. The visual for the Pressure remix with Buju Banton was released late last year. More recently, she was featured on Protoje’s song Switch it Up .
Koffee has said she would release her debut album this year, which she describes as having ‘an interesting twist’.
However, that’s not to say the Lockdown singer has only been focusing on music.
Koffee recently joined a group of other artists and influencers as models for Calvin Klein‘s Spring 2021 collection, titled Blank Canvas, which focuses on the brand’s foundational styles.
Koffee, whose real name is Mikayla Simpson has also been involved with many other brands recently including a holiday ad campaign for H&M, an ad campaign for Malta Jamaica, and Mastercard as a brand ambassador.
Koffee is expanding her reach, taking advantage of her marketability, and giving us great music. We can’t wait to see what comes next.
