Pregnant Nyla From Brick & Lace ‘Celebrates Her Roundness’ With Baby Bump Photos
Florida-based Jamaican singer, songwriter Nyla Thorbourne, formerly of the Dancehall/R&B duo Brick & Lace, is celebrating her second pregnancy.
Seemingly in her second trimester, the singer has begun filling her Instagram page with several baby bump photos in evident awe of who she says is her expected princess. “I got my prince 🤴 …… now it’s time for my Princess 👸🏽 💞💞,” she wrote on a post in early March.

“What an amazing thing it is to be a woman. I have been feeling a lot of discomfort And sickness this pregnancy. I literally feel my stomach expanding and then I think ahmmm you are growing a little human who is probably gonna be just as moody And emotional as her mom,” she wrote.
Nyla, 37, says the process is all worth it and is embracing everything that comes along with being a mom, adding. “I am celebrating my roundness and everything that comes with it because that’s what it means to be a woman. We are indeed #queens carriers of life and we are to teach our boys how to be kings so they can protect their queens who carry their Legacy 💞.”
Like her sister Nyanda, another former Brick & Lace member, Nyla still writes and performs as a solo artist and is currently recording and releasing music with some major players in the game.
After the group’s massive breakthrough in the mid-2000’s on their debut album, Love Is Wicked under Geffen and Kon Live record labels, she has appeared in other mega-hit tracks such as Light It Up with Major Lazer, Good Vibe alongside Warner Bros Recording artist Strobe and the Major Lazer remix of Ed Sheeran’s Shape Of You with Dancehall singer Kranium.
In December she dropped a new track Hard & Done with Charly Black and shot the music video in Jamaica. Prior, her most recent releases were Fuego and Mad Out with Topo La Maskara; the latter also featured Mr. Vegas.
Meanwhile, Nyanda dropped Red Alert in December, a collaboration with DJ Bobbi.
These days, Nyla seems to be staying put and focusing on her other passions: Interior Design.
