JayBlem, Teen Star Athlete And Son Of Danny English, Releases Visuals For New Single ‘Account’: Watch
Teenage star athlete-turned-deejay and son of Dancehall vet Danny English, JayBlem, is eyeing a serious career as a recording artiste his latest single, Account, is now blowing up on FM radio.
“I love music more than anything else. I am not surprised that this is my profession at this age because I’ve been doing music professionally since age 14,” the talented 18 year-old rhyme slinger JayBlem, whose real name is Jaheim Cox, said.
“I’m also still at Kingston College furthering my education and I still play a vital role in KC’s track and field program. I choose music but I’m also still very interested in my academics and performing well in sports.”
He has distinguished himself as an elite athlete, representing both KC and Jamaica, racking up medals in the disciplines of the Long Jump, Triple Jump, and 4×100 relay. In 2018, Cox took home the bronze medal with a mark of 7.17m in the Triple Jump at the Boys Athletic Championships, and took home gold in the 4×100 relay at the Class 1 Gibson relays in 2020.
Now, he is trying to sell gold with his latest release, Account, which was produced by JB Productions, and released on all download digital platforms on April 10th.
“The video came out earlier this week and the response has been phenomenal so far, 11,000 plus views in only a few days, the girl dem love the BlemBloss flavour, so the views are climbing,” he said.

He has released a number of other singles such as Regular, Burna, Top Freak, all for the JB Productions label to which he recently inked a recording and booking deal.
“He is very talented , he is a complete young artiste, whether cultural, hardcore dancehall, or reggae, he can deliver,” Jermaine Baker, chief executive officer of JB Productions, said.
Born January 28, 2003, JayBlem was raised in Allman Town, he attended Kingston College high school where he distinguished himself as a star athlete, racking up multiple gold medals, certificates and trophies. His first song was distributed on his own label, Blem Boss Music in 2018. He soon built a supportive fan base after releasing songs like “Regular”, “Pop It Off” and “Account”.
JayBlem’s love for music is genuine and his talented musical attribute was passed on to him by his father, Danny English, who is a veteran in the Reggae/Dancehall genre and known for the hit single, Party Time featuring Egg Nog.
“My deejay style is more of a hardcore one, lyrical and singjay, my style dem different,” he said.
