Reggae crooner and She’s Royal hit-maker Tarrus Riley has released a brand spanking new video for the bouncy Dancehall single Just Like That. The musician posted the DJ Frass-helmed easy-breezy musical production for his hundreds of thousands of YouTube subscribers to fawn over, as members of the local music fraternity hope for positive returns heading into the summer season.

“You must be a gift from God… could this be true?,” an animated and impressed Riley sings over the cheery, pulsating track, before raising the puzzling “how yuh mek it move like that?” The Reggae singer also remarked “yuh know mi love it wen yuh dip so, rock so…up so, down so, how yuh mek ee move so?,” while describing the fluidity of his co-lead’s movements that – without great effort – sync to the beats.

The New York-born Jamaican singer-songwriter, along with his creative team, opted for a ‘modern cabin in the woods’ theme to deliver the earthy outdoorsy visuals for the African Kydd-led Just Like That video. The singer and his leading lady frolic among a scenic rock garden with waterfall accents, a wood-and-metal trimmed backyard deck nestled in a cozy rustic cabin-styled getaway set.

“I just really want to know, if we spend time alone, is it like that?,” the entertainer inquired on the track, before conceding “I just want to spend time alone.”

Kydd’s lens captured the duo’s romp while preserving the intended intimacy of the one-on-one conversation sketched by the pen of the author(s) of Just Like That. Riley and his co-star are framed playing in the lighthearted atmosphere, where both were carefree and unbothered while committing one of film’s most guarded rules; breaking the fourth wall with reckless abandon.

The single, though hard-hitting and rhythm-driven, manages to retain a laid-back musical texture that effortlessly forms the bridge that connects the fun party vibe of its lyrics to the secluded and earthy visuals that frame the backdrop of the video.

Riley, undoubtedly, hopes to be among the entertainers who help to kick off a much freer summertime entertainment roster. This upcoming summer is highly anticipated as the litmus test which could determine the full ‘reopening of outside’ for music industry-related activities, following the ongoing suppression of entertainment events, across the globe, by Covid19-related gathering restrictions.

Producer DJ Frass is an award-winning music maker who featured on Reggae group Morgan’s Heritage’s Grammy-winning Strictly Roots LP that was released in 2015. The producer was credited on the album’s Why Dem Come Around track.

Just Like That was produced and shot in collaboration with BSMG and Jukeboxx Productions, as well as Romeich Ent TV.
