‘Netflixxx N Chill’ Singer Moyann Does Not Want To Be Mistaken For “An Instagram Girl”
Netflixxx N Chill singer Moyann says she has decided to become even more circumspect about what she posts on social media, as she does not want to become mistaken for being an “Instagram Girl” instead of an artist.
She was responding to questions being posed by Television Jamaica’s Anthony Miller during Friday’s The Entertainment Report programme, about dealing with her fans on social media, among other things.
According to Moyann, she puts great effort in acknowledging and engaging her fans, but sometimes followers, if utmost care is not taken, may become confused about what her actual occupation is.
“I correspond with them a lot. I try to repost. Any video that they send, I try to put it up, highlight them, make them feel like they are a part of Moyann. And it’s not just me alone. I try to bring them along my journey with me,” she said.
“But people tend to like, get it confused when you try to post a lot of pictures and if you are an artiste, you have to show that you are an artiste and not confuse it with a lot of selfies, pictures with clothes an all a dat,” the Montego Bay native said.
When asked by Miller: “What do you don’t want people to get confused about” Moyann said that she did not what them to “think that I am an Instagram girl, or a model”.
“I am an artiste and that I what I stand by. When it takes a negative turn, I am just human I am gonna feel a certain type a way, probably feel down. It is the internet and everybody has their own opinions; you can’t take offence to it of somebody choose to say something that you don’t like. So I have to just deal with it,” the 21 year old said.
Moyann, who has admitted in the past to being generally a quiet girl, also told Miller that she keeps her “private life private” by not doing “too much out there on social media” and not putting “nothing out there that I would regret in the future”.
“I just try to keep it about music, about my content. I want to a be a relatable artiste, where you can feel like you are in the same position as me. I don’t want to be on this high pedestal and fans are like down there. My music can speak to you, you feel like me an you guh through the same thing; we a live the same life, she stated.
