DJ Khaled’s Jamaican Visuals For ‘We Going Crazy’ Drops With H.E.R. And Migos
American music mogul DJ Khaled just delivered a brand new video treatment for his track We Going Crazy which features R&B songbird H.E.R. and rap trio, Migos.
The new Reggae-infused single is a part of his latest LP, Khaled Khaled , a 14-track collection that toasts his 12th studio album, which released on April 30 under his label We The Best Music Group/Epic Records.
In a film by Joseph Kahn, the highly captivating music video that Khaled revealed took 7 days to shoot, shows a narrow escape from a detonated yacht at sea. The survivors, Khaled and H.E.R. make it ashore via jet skis to a white sand tropical oasis on Jamaica’s North Coast.
H.E.R. leads with her sultry tones taking viewers with her as she explores the dense forestry of monstrous trees while swinging on ornately hung vines and swimming in a river with cascading waterfalls in the backdrop. While Khaled remains on the shoreline, retrieving relics from the wreckage, to eventually create his very own beachfront fortress of bamboos and white drapery complete with a throne fit for a king nestled between a gold Rolls Royce and motorcycle, he even made friends with a lion.
As scenes with Migos appear, the crew meets for an underground feast surrounded by trunks of treasure in the Green Grotto Caves with dead pirates as their dinner guests. The plot thickens, (as everything Khaled does is always the ‘best’) when he goes searching deeper inside the caverns to discover a mythical dragon.
By then it explains why they feel “we going crazy” but it doesn’t take Khaled long to send for a chopper to make their rescue.
Premiered less than 8 hours ago and Khaled’s new release has already pulled in a pretty sizable audience, racking up 500k streams and a score of raving comments.
For many, H.E.R. never looked sexier, “H.e.r good girl going bad” and “I ain’t never seen her tryna being sexy but I like it,” said some of the fans.
Others felt H.E.R.’s sound and vibe was reminiscent of Aaliyah and a young Alicia Keys, “It’s giving aaliyah vibes” said someone on Twitter. Also, “H.E.R. is the Alicia Keys of this generation ♥️♥️” and “When she sing the hook, she remind me of Alicia Keys 🔥🔥🔥🔥” said another before adding that the track was his second favorite of Khaled’s new LP, “chune, 2nd best after ‘Where I’m From’! 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲.” Another agreed, “Best song on the album after BUJU CAPELTON 🇯🇲.”
Many couldn’t help but commend Khaled for always being able to bring the right artistes together. “DJ KHALED is another one… He brings artists together and creates a masterpiece 👌,” and “Both H.E.R and Migos snapped!! It’s insane of how this collab worked really well! 🔥
“Perfectly blending an RnB singer and hip hop artists on a reggae tip was pure, pure genius🔥,” added another.
Khaled’s heavy product endorsement in the video didn’t go unnoticed either as many poked fun at the business tycoon for spiking the visuals with ads of his business ventures. “The product placement kills me 💀💀🔥,” said one YouTube viewer and another joined in “Director: So which products would you like to place in this video? – DJ Khaled: Yes!.”
The new visuals for We Going Crazy follow a select few that he recently released for tracks from his Khaled Khaled album, namely the Sorry Not Sorry music video, featuring Jay-Z and Nas, Every Chance I Get video, featuring Lil Baby and Lil Durk, Thankful with Lil Wayne and Jeremih and Where You Come From with Jamaican music legends Buju Banton, Barrington Levy, Capleton, and Bounty Killer.
Khaled’s 12th studio LP is already expected to take the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart thanks to a projected 80 to 100 thousand album equivalent units sold during its initial week of release.
