Alkaline Set To Star On Boom Boom’s Upcoming ’10:40′ Riddim
Billboard Selector Boom Boom has announced that Vendetta Boss, Alkaline, will be among the stars at the forefront of his next riddim, which he has titled 10:40.
The announcement comes a week after Boom Boom told Television Jamaica’s Anthony Miller during an interview for the Entertainment Report, that some Dancehall artistes including Alkaline and Vybz Kartel, to whom he had sent his BMW riddim, had decided to opt-out of voicing on it, apparently because they were perhaps “not feeling” the beat.
But on Wednesday, Boom Boom, whose given name is Marlon Wizard, posted a photo of Alkaline on his Instagram page and gleefully told his followers the good news.
“Detta Way The Better Way, World Team All The Way .Mi Fans Unuh Ready Fimi New Riddim It Name 10:40… @manhimselff 💪💪… BallGame…,” the Grants Pen native wrote.

Last week Boom Boom had told the Entertainment Report that while he was proud that Spice, Ding Dong, Intence and Skillibeng were among the artists who had voiced on the BMW riddim, he was somewhat disappointed that some of the other big Dancehall stars not voiced for him at the time, but deferred their participation till the release of his next project.
“Some people, mi reach out to dem an mi a figure more likely seh dem naw feel di beat,” Boom Boom had told Miller.
“Mi reach out to Gully Gad, mi reach out to Aidonia, mi reach out to Vybz Kartel, mi reach out to Alkaline,” he had added after Miller asked who the artistes were.
“Why wouldn’t they be on Boom Boom’s riddim?” Miller questioned.
“Well yuh done know, yuh have some artiste, couple a dem weh nuh really like a beat and couple a dem weh like a beat, suh mi figure more likely when mi a drop di next beat, caw dem seh when mi a drop di next one, dem wi voice,” he had explained to the veteran journalist.
On December 19 last year Boom Boom officially launched his debut production, the BMW riddim which he described as a world-class riddim from a world-class selector, featuring, Skillibeng, Ding Dong, I Waata, Elephant Man, Intence, Spice, and other artistes.
BMW was the first riddim to ever feature both Skillibeng and Intence, a feat Boom Boom said resulted from the level of respect that both artistes had for him.
“A nuff people did a try fi get dat fi happen wid money and it nuh work, and the yute dem just dweet from dem heart fi mi, innu because dem memba the great things weh mi do fi dem,” he told The Star.
“From 2010 when me and Harry Hype step out, a nuff artiste we help rise and so every artiste right now wah gi we back da strength deh. Dem ready fi voice, and so mi just a go do my thing and take it to higher levels,” the 36 year old had also added.
