Usain Bolt, Opus In Partnership For Limited Edition Book: ‘BOLT – The Opus’
With his signature pose identifiable globally, Usain Bolt is no stranger to being immortalized in various formats. However, his upcoming project with Opus, BOLT – The Opus , is expected to be the “largest and most luxurious” celebration of the icon.
Opus is a world-leading publisher of luxury limited edition books featuring some of the most iconic names in sport, music, film, and entertainment, such as Diego Maradona, Michael Jackson, and football giants Manchester United FC.
The fastest man alive today announced on his Instagram that the book is “coming soon” . Bolt made the post a couple of hours after Opus posted a video of the sprint legend on its own Instagram , with him weighing in on joining the Opus family.
“I am happy to be a part of the family, looking forward to the book. Listen, I am a record-breaker, so let’s break some records. Let’s go!” the retired sprint star said.
In announcing the partnership a day earlier, a super-excited and proud Opus said in a statement that
BOLT – The Opus
would be the largest and most luxurious celebration of the icon, measuring 60cm x 40cm and weighing in at 17kg. Over 260 pages printed on luxurious silk paper will celebrate in the most dynamic way, using high definition photography presented uniquely like never before, Opus added.
The book will be released as a luxury limited edition, capturing iconic Olympic moments and treasured memories, and presented in a hand-made clamshell presentation case, Opus said. The publisher said, too, that the release will include a limited number of editions signed by Bolt, “making it the greatest tribute to Usain Bolt ever”.
Highlighting that the first edition will be ready for release and shipping “later this Autumn 2021”, Opus promised to release more information over the coming months, including sneak previews of the content celebrating Bolt.
Bolt was given a Manchester United Opus as a gift a few years ago and is reportedly thrilled to have the official Usain Bolt Opus.
“I have seen some sample pages already and am excited that it is going to look amazing and capture all the biggest moments in my career,” Bolt is quoted as saying in the Opus statement.
The eight-time Olympic gold medallist’s Opus is expected to be released ahead of the one being done for Edson Arantes do Nascimento, known as Pelé—the only three-time winner of the World Cup – which is expected in December 2021.
According to the publisher, every Opus is a collectors’ item offering investment potential and pleasure for generations to come.
