Arkcus Drops Get-Money Anthem, ‘Money Turn Up’

Relentlessly bossing up in 2021, dancehall artiste Arkcus continues to ascend into viral stardom with his latest single, Money Turn Up, which has been popping on dancehall playlists on ethnic reggae stations stateside.

“Money Turn Up has a buzz in the streets of Philadelphia and all along the Caribbean communities along the east coast of the US. The song is on a lot of mixtapes and the selectors have been showing me crazy support,” he said.

On the single, Arkcus rifles through rapid-fire verses on this get-money single before igniting a high register hook talking about stacking bricks and generating millions. The track sees Arkcus breaking the boundaries between hip-hop and dancehall with a chantable chorus that anyone can sing. The song was produced by Courtney Swaby and released on the C.S Entertainment label.

He shot the shoot larger-than-life visuals to match the energy and verve of Money Turn Up.

“In a few years, I’m looking to earn a couple of Grammys for my skills,” he said.

This new single is another exciting teaser for Arkcus’ forthcoming  EP. Capitalizing on his unbelievable momentum, Arkcus is seeking to release this EP in September this year with a collection of new songs plus excellent previously released songs such as the grimy Hot Dolla, the introspective Father God Tell Me and Fully Sanitized which features Rastafarian hitmaker Munga Honorable.

Now with 2021 in full swing, Arkcus is looking to set the tone moving forward.

“I am going all out in 2021 to get my career to that next level,” he said.

Davis was born 1989 in Kingston’s Victoria Jubilee Hospital. He attended Tivoli Garden High School. Arkcus nurtured his gift for music when he began writing lyrics and deejaying for friends ,family and members of the community. Arkcus started his musical career at age 12 after impressing Harbour View’s renowned producer Computer Paul, who recorded his first single “Ghetto Yuh Come From”.

After a while, he became serious about his craft and started focusing more on himself as a musician, using his personal experiences and current issues in society to create music .  In 2008, he took the name Galawasp, and  released Dutty Money ,that obtained a lot rotation on radio stations locally and internationally and got him bookings all over the world.

In July 2012, Galawasp release an EP called “Sex in the City” under his previous stage name, Galawasp with singles such as Cry . In 2017, he changed his name to Galawasp-Arcus when he released a second EP called “Kingston 14” that featured singles such as Bam Bam and once he changed his name officially to Arkcus, and he has been carving out his own niche ever since.

Now, Arkcus’ new EP will showcase his new name and a new change in musical direction.

“I changed my name because too many artist started using the name Galawasp in the music industry so I went for a name that would stand out as a talented act. Most people loved the name Galawasp but the name Arkcus has now grown on them and they love it, it’s gonna be their favorite,” the deejay said confidently.
