Mr. Vegas Defends Ms. Kitty, One1Can Says Vegas Is “Attracted” To Him

Dancehall artist Mr. Vegas jumped to the defence of broadcaster Khadene ‘Ms. Kitty’ Hylton in an online video where he attacked former journalist-cum-singer One1Can as a “sissy” , ‘maama-man” and other pejorative labels.

The Nike Air singer even went so far to dub One1Can’s allegations as a desperate grab for clout and attention.

“This bredda Milton Wray, an ex-journalist, is a bruk pocket man. How you know that man fit the description of a bruk pocket man? That man was a journalist for years and whatever him do with him life, him decide say now him waan buss inna music . Him ah 65 and him just want to mek it inna music now? How him ah go mek it ah 65? Him realise say him have to pick on somebody, him coulda put out him music at 65, and say ‘ listen to me’ and let the people gravitate and like it, but no, him do a live and him find something to draw attention,” Vegas said.

Vegas was making reference to an article published on DancehallMag three weeks ago which alluded to an alleged date between Ms. Kitty and One1Can several years ago.

“And people dun a pree her say she gwaan like too hype and she study hard and tun lawyer. She no waan no bruk pocket because she waan man spend 86,000 dollars, so this man come and say ‘mi can just tell the people dem say mi tek her out, mi no need no proof’. She nyam nuff, she nyam two plate of food and the people dem say ah so she craven? She defend herself so people start say that mean yu craven fi true, yu nyam two plate of food fi true,” Vegas said in the Live video.

He suggested that One1Can’s assertions were an attention-grabbing gambit designed to “look likes and ah look attention”.

“But let’s look if it mek sense. Him claim say she eat two plate a food but everybody did know say she name Fluffy Diva . We did know say she did name so, she ah show yu say she is a big girl. You go out with a lady and you know she big? Wah yu did plan fi give her? A banana chips?” Vegas ranted.

He then suggested that the artist’s anger stemmed from the fact that he failed to consummate the relationship.

“You come back after so many years and talk say she eat two plate a food. You never did say she never did think bout that, in case , she eat a lot, I am going to prepare myself to pay for it, she is a big girl. Anno the food wah she eat, ah the fact say yu never get no p—m, p—-m. Yu go extreme to get attention for your music,” he said.

One1Can hit back with a video of his own, where he defended his comments.

“This is not someone I was going to respond to because I know that not a lot of people hold him in high regard but this video he posted….he is talking a lot of things, and this not something I cannot allow to stand,” he said.

He suggested that Mr. Vegas was actually attracted to him given the disturbing tone of his comments.

“The thing that frightened me the most was when he said I am a b-tch. How can you look pon a man and confuse him for a b-tch ?  No, something wrong, this man confused , him ah say me a girl, further on, the man ask mi fi perform a porn show for him. Now mi always hear the rumours but I never know that a man can look at another man and think he is a woman. It is obvious that Vegas is attracted to me. I am not into that kinda thing,” he said in a video response.

“Do your thing, mi no have nothing against your thing, but don’t ask mi to perform no porn show, and I am not a b-tch, Mr. Vegas . I don’t understand this bredda.

One1Can also accused Mr. Vegas of ‘clout-chasing’.

“Mr. Vegas is looking a hype, he is saying I am looking clout, but him come on and ah play him song, you are trying to ride on One1Can and in the midst, him expose himself. Mi hear say talk about Gay-gas but mi never know something go so until yu say yu think I am a girl and mi fi do porno fi him,” he said.

The Gay-gas reference stemmed from a war of words between Bounty Killer and Mr. Vegas years ago when each made disparaging remarks about each other but Bounty Killer’s pejorative slur, ‘Gay-gas’, because a popular label in the dancehall underground because of Bounty Killer’s popularity at the time.

One1Can said he would not be deterred in his quest to pursue music merely because of his age.

“Among the many things Mr. Vegas has said, I am only five years older than Mr. Vegas, if me fi leave Vegas, then next five years, mi no need fi hear nothing from you Mr. VegasDon’t make anyone ever tell yu say yu too old, or too blakc to do what you want to do. Anything in life you want to do, do it. The music business don’t belong to Mr. Vegas and me, OneIcan ah go do music and nothing can stop me from do music,” he said.

“Mi ah challenge him to perform a badder song than the one am going to perform
When yu babymother carry a man go inna yu bed, yu shouldn’t talk that. How yu a call me a sissy man and a maama man? The man ah talk bout mi sexual prowess, if you had the ability , your babymother wouldn’t carry a man in your bed . It is obvious that she carried another man into the bed to satisfy her, and yu a come cry like a little baby and now yu a call me a sissy and a maama man?” he asked incredulously.

He then brought out a record to show that Mr. Vegas had recorded a single that was on the B side of a single that One1Can had recorded decades ago under the name Sugar Moses.

The song Foreigner by Scarface (Mr. Vegas) recorded for Henry K and released by Pow Wow Records, a major label in the US, that was on the B side of the song, Wild West in the Ghetto by Sugar Roses (One1Can) recorded for Henry K and released by Pow Wow. Both songs were recorded at Anchor Recording studio over 20 years ago and both songs were released on the same record.

“At that time, Vegas had a big scar in his face where  a man give him a telephone cut in his face, him do plastic surgery and tek out the scar, the two ah we used to walk and look the buss,” One1Can said.

In closing, One1Can outlined Mr. Vegas’ various imbroglios on social media to show the Heads High singer’s lack of credibility.

“Vegas have him woman ah call me to write a book on him. This man is not credible, this man cannot be trusted. One minute him say him don’t believe inna God,him cuss God, and the  next thing you know he is a Christian, then him go church go challenge pastor and dem hold him and drag him outta church. And now, him de pon social media ah gwaan like him bright, I don’t know who fool this bredda ya ah mek him gwaan like him bright, yu tink yu bright?”
