Nicki Minaj Checks Cuban Doll For Misquoting Her Lyrics On Skillibeng’s ‘Crocodile Teeth’ Remix
Rap queen Nicki Minaj wasn’t about to let fellow rapper Cuban Doll butcher her lyrics on Dancehall artist Skillibeng’s Crocodile Teeth Remix , so she low-key checked her on Instagram.
Nicki re-released her Beam Me Up Scotty mixtape last week to feature her remix of the EastSyde star boy’s massive hit record, Crocodile Teeth, which has clearly had a huge impact on many international celebs. From rappers like Tory Lanez, Drake, Bobby Shmurda, Rich The Kid, to African star Burna Boy, they all have been seen repping the track on their social media and since Nicki Minaj hopped on the remix, the record took on a whole new realm of glory.
Cuban Doll was the latest to show the track some love with a bar from Nicki’s verse on the remix. She posted a scorching thirst trap photo on Instagram rocking a sexy pink monokini cutout leaving very little to the imagination but it was her caption that didn’t quite communicate that well, especially with Nicki.
Doll wrote on the share: “My type of gal wanna know da opps out,” but unfortunately those aren’t the lyrics. Nicki caught on pretty quickly and slid into the comments section to correct the rapper by quoting the actual verse. “Might tek a gyal man, I know da opps out,” Minaj wrote.
A totally humiliated Doll followed up with, “I’m so embarrassed,” in her IG Story after the exchange and later updated the lyrics on her page.
While everyone was tickled by the humor of it all, Nicki was sure to let the fans know that there was no shade on her part, in fact, she has nothing but love for Cuban Doll.
“I hope y’all know I love Cuban. I was havin fun w her. I don’t try 2 embarrass ppl I fuk wit. That’s corny,” Nicki wrote on her IG Story. “I’ll never correct a lyric ever again chile. Boom,” she added.
Meanwhile Crocodile Teeth distributor Johnny Wonder and producer, Adde Instrumental have Billboard hopes for what has become of Skillibeng’s most widely successful track.
The music distribution company posted earlier on Instagram, “@billboard BOUND!!! @skillibeng @jwonder21st @addeprod 🙏🙏🙏🙏,” with optimism.
Crocodile Teeth is Skillibeng’s highest streaming song to date, currently amassing over 20 million views on YouTube alone. The official audio of the remix with Nicki was released just over a week ago, and has accumulating 2.4 million views, and is currently No. #2 Trending For Music on the music streaming platform.
