Marion Hall Wants Tyler Perry Movie About Her Life: From Rise To Dancehall Queen Lady Saw To Minister
Minister Marion Hall, formerly known as Lady Saw, believes her life story would be a good inspirational plot for a movie. The Dancehall legend believes billionaire director, producer, and screenwriter Tyler Perry can best communicate her story.
“I can’t wait for you to do a movie about my life. My life and testimonies will save the lives of many women. Please check your inbox on your Instagram,” Marion wrote on Perry’s official Facebook page yesterday.
Hall, 51, who stepped away from a celebrated career in Dancehall music in 2016 to get baptized and embark on a renewed life as a Minister and Gospel music singer, might have appeared pretty bold in her appeal but the move didn’t go unnoticed nor unsupported.
The fans came out in their numbers to endorse the one-time ‘Queen of the Dancehall’.
“I definitely agree, I loved you as an artist & I feel like you set the blueprint in the Dancehall industry before the internet & social media was a thing, obviously you have transformed and that life is behind you now… but I have always been fascinated by your transformation due to the fact that when I saw you as a child you were a different person then. I also love how you transformed into a leader/ teacher. I would definitely watch a show/ documentary on this! 💕” said one fan early on sighting the minister’s movie request.
Others joined in to say, “Seriously need to see this on the big screen,” “I hope he does check, tyler check you inbox thank you” and “That would be lovely!” added another.
Among the growing chatter, however, many thought it funny that Marion Hall felt her life story demanded a movie and one produced by such an icon in the film production space.
Some came to her defense like one fan who said, “I love the fact that you are ‘doing you’. The laughs and persecution means you have made the right choice. Best Wishes!!!”
Others responded to explain the root of the humor: “We’re laughing at the desperation it takes to assume a random comment on Facebook instead of, you know, actually doing the work, is going to get anywhere.”
Another added, “I’m pretty sure it’s thousands of people that says the same thing. I can imagine the emails 📧😩.”
There is no telling how many avenues of contact (if any more) the minister has attempted or whether she already had an exchange with the Madea actor, but some fans feel it would be an unexploited effort if it were only a social media connection.
Perry is well known for his real-life stories and thought-provoking scripts. The life story of a little girl from St. Mary, Jamaica who went on to become the illustrious ‘Queen of Dancehall’ and first female deejay to be certified as a triple-platinum and Grammy award-winning artist for some of the most outrageous lyrical narratives in her songs and then later turning her life around to becoming an outspoken minister – may not be that far-fetched to snag his attention.
Tyler Perry is best known to have written and starred in (his first movie), A Mad Black Woman, and produced others, Madea’s Family Reunion, Daddy’s Little Girl, Why Did I Get Married, Meet The Browns, The Family That Preys, Good Deeds to name a few.
Perry’s, Atlanta-based film production studio Tyler Perry Studios (TPS) is one of the largest film production studios in the United States. It is the base for many of his ongoing series such as The Haves And The Haves Not, Ruthless, The Oval, Sistas, Assisted Living, Bruh, Young Dilan, and House Of Payne.
