Dancehall artist Dovey Magnum has been released from U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) detention after she was held at an Atlanta, Georgia airport last week.

In an Instagram post on Friday, the Bawl Out singer told her followers that she was now at home resting.  The ICE website also confirms that the Dancehall singer, whose real name is Simsky Kimberly Harrison, is no longer in custody.

“Thanks for the love and support I’m home resting,” she wrote in the caption of a clip that promoted her new single, Never Fail. “I appreciate you all from my heart.”

“Love 💕 y’all sooooooo much! Thanks a million on millions,” Magnum continued in the comments as her fans praised God and welcomed the artist’s freedom.

Fellow Dancehall star I-Octane showed support by simply commenting, “ROAD”.

Last week, Dovey Magnum’s new manager, Nigel Angus, confirmed that the singer was held at the airport for questioning before she was transferred to the Stewart Detention Center facility.

Angus explained that the detention was an immigration matter and not a criminal one.  “There is only ONE problem and it’s regarding her overstaying here in the States,” he said. “I have retained an attorney who goes by Mr. Farqueson and has declared this is only an immigration issue, NOT a criminal case.”

Dovey Magnum, who is best known for the 2019 single Bawl Out, was forced to miss a performance in Florida last Sunday due to her detention.

However, she’s now billed to perform at an “All White Affair” at the Lyfe Night Club in Atlanta on Sunday, June 6.
