Jahmiel Gets Baptized
Dancehall artist Jahmiel has declared his faith and commitment to Jesus Christ in an official baptismal ceremony this weekend.
Jahmiel’s baptism, which took place inside the church was completely documented in one video shared by YouTuber Teach Dem however, the name of the church and other details are unknown.
Jahmiel, whose real name is Jamiel Foster, was highly praised by the reverends of the church during the ceremony for the transformative decision to give his life to the Lord. Being a Dancehall entertainer, the ministry was elated about the reach and global impact Jahmiel will have on others in light of his renewed faith.
Cloaked in a white baptismal robe and standing in the baptistery, Jahmiel consented to the sacramental ceremony. Answering in service to uphold several principles, among them were,
“Do you love the Lord God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, with all your strength? … If so, say yes I do,” to which the deejay responded “yes”.
“Do you believe God sent his one and only son Jesus Christ of Nazareth to die on Calvary’s cross so that you can have eternal life… if so, kindly say yes I do,” to which he also answered, “yes I do”.
Then finally, “Do you pledge from this moment onwards for the rest of your life brother Jamiel Foster, do you pledge to serve the Lord in spirit and in truth and in holiness for as long as you shall live? If so, kindly say yes I do,” to which he responded, “yes I do”.
The pastor proceeded to motion Jahmiel in the water for what was his official baptism and initiation to life as a Christian.
For many of his fans, this may come as no big surprise. The Dancehall singer had a profound awakening back in November last year when he was faced with a near-death experience. Jahmiel’s close brush with death led him back on a spiritual path and since then has changed gears in his musical output. A testament which can be seen with his latest works, Unbroken, Guide My Steps, The World, Too Late, Live it Up, and most recently a video for Never Give In with Ajauni, which dropped yesterday.
It wasn’t that long ago that the Patriotz boss was spitting out diss tracks towards fellow Dancehall deejays Chronic Law, Vershon, and Tommy Lee Sparta. Last year in April, Jahmiel and the Law Boss went back and forth in a series of heated exchanges, where he fired off tracks like 357, Chip Glock, and No Funeral to demonstrate just how fierce he can get. Jahmiel however later expressed regret with his war with Chronic Law, describing it as unnecessary and ‘unhealthy’ in an Entertainment Report interview.
His feud with Vershon would unleash the track Too Dumb with Vershon later counteracting him with Gullyside Chihuahua claiming, among other things that he was living in Mavado’s shadow. Earlier this year in February, Jahmiel revealed that he and Vershon had ended their 4-year long beef. The Strongest Soldier deejay also said a “voice” told him that he should do a track with Vershon. “A just God a do him work enuh man … to how da feeling deh just come over mi, me say dat a di right ting fi do bredda. Mi know seh nuttn neva a go wrong,” Jahmiel said.
As for his war with Tommy Lee, Jahmiel took matters into his own hands after a tireless vendetta between himself, MVP members, Mavado and Alkaline, and Lee when he released Blue Face, Burial, Anyweh, and Dead Bwoy Leroy in 2018. The direct target on Lee brought his counteraction Dead Bwoy Jahmiel.
Though there was no public squash between himself and Lee, Jahmiel’s renewed path as a Christian now speaks for itself.
His current standing with MVP alliance seems to be intact, though rumors emerged some time ago that the group had split, Jahmiel cleared up those rumors during an interview with Onstage declaring that everything was good between himself, the Gully Gad, and Vendetta Boss.
