On her 50th birthday on January 12, four months before the song’s May 12 release, Macka Diamond had demanded that women in her age group, who are condemning her sexy style of dressing, ‘hop off her fender’ and make efforts to take care of their bodies by adopting a healthy lifestyle, so they too can look as splendid as her.

At the time the Holy Childhood High School old girl she said these women who have been condemning her, because younger men fund her desirable, have been, among other things, careless with their diets.

She claimed that when they compare themselves with other women their age who keep themselves looking well, they are embarrassed and are demanding that women like her, carry themselves as frumpy as they are.

“When time oonu body change an oonu caan wear di likkle short clothes no more, don’t blame di odda woman dem weh can wear it, an a meck it look like a suppm wrong,” Macka had declared during an interview on Ja Irie radio.

“Oonu meck oonu belly guh outta hand and oonu meck oonu baddy get outta hand, oonu nah eat right, just blame it on dat.   Don’t tell di woman dem seh when oonu reach certain age oonu fi look certain way,” she added.

The Bun Him artiste had said she would continue with her healthy lifestyle and ‘look-good’ regimen, and declared that she would never adopt an approach that peri-menopausal and menopausal women ought to look and dress like ‘old women’.

“As mi seh, a di woman dem weh a guh through menopause an dem don’t look good wid it, an dem stress out demself ova man, an some a dem meck man mad dem.  Dem don’t look good no more, is dem a cuss di woman dem weh keep up demself, stay strong and looking well.  They are the problem,” Macka Diamond had stated.

An unrepentant Macka said that women have an obligation to themselves to take care of their bodies, instead of pouring scorn on the women who do so and who, as a consequence, are able to maintain their attractiveness and allure, even as they get older.

“Di girl dem wid di cellulites dem, an oonu don’t look good no more, big belly dem and oonu don’t keep oonu skin clean and pretty and don’t eat right, do not cuss us!   Do not cuss di big woman dem weh look good because wi teck care a wiself and wi love wiself,” the artiste, whose given name is Charmaine Munroe said.

“When oonu reach certain age oonu fi love oonuself an oonu stop lowe up oonuself an meck di man dem guh fi di young gyal dem.  Meck di man dem fret when dem a go out deh guh look pon di young gyal dem, an wonder if big oman a cheat,” she added.

Macka had first addressing the issue of aging in song, back in 2012, when she celebrated her 42nd birthday, following criticisms that she was “too old” to be in Dancehall music.

At the time she released Forty and Fabulous in which she took aim at  “young people” whom she said were “throwing bad words” and highlighted the artistes who were over or near 40 and who were still at the top of their gam in Dancehall, among them Lady Saw, Beenie ManBounty KillerCapleton, Lady G, Spragga Benz, Shabba Ranks.
