Chris Gayle Shares Photo With Shaggy In Studio
Jamaican cricketer Chris Gayle recently shared a photo with Dancehall superstar Shaggy and it seems the fans have more new music to look forward to from the batsman, after all, why else would he be in the studio with Shaggy?
Even though cricket is the Universe Boss’ claim to fame he has launched a music career that is flourishing. Gayle has released tracks like Wack We a Wack and Blessings, on his own Triple Century Records label. His single Jamaica To India also blazed to the top spot on the charts in India.
Gayle, 41, took to Instagram yesterday where he shared the photo of himself and the It Wasn’t Me singer lounging in the studio. His caption read, “never let them know your next move! Big respect @direalshaggy #music #studioreasoning”.
Fans in the comment section were ecstatic about the two potentially working on new music together. What is unique about Chris Gayle as an artist is that he brings his worldwide fanbase from his previous sporting career along with him from places like India, Australia, and South Africa where he remains an icon.
In the comments, @im_sakinakhan wrote, “Universe Boss” while @_.rileyy.p called Shaggy snd Gayle a “legendary pair” as other fans weighed in on the excitement surrounding the possibility of new music from the icons.
Meanwhile, Shaggy has been making other collaborative moves in the Dancehall industry. He is executive producing Spice’s debut album and appeared on the project’s hit single, Go Down Deh. He seemed rather thrilled about that partnership as well and even complimented Spice’s work ethic, likening it to his own.
Shaggy is also expected to appear on Beenie Man’s upcoming album.
Though Chris Gayle is keeping the motive of his meeting with Shaggy under wraps for now, it is only a matter of time before Dancehall fans get to hear what they were cooking up.
