Akino Dirtfree Says Jamaica Couldn’t Be Replicated For ‘Loose Ball’ Visuals
Not even the pandemic could have put a damper on dancehall artist Akino Dirtfree’s plans to travel home to Jamaica to shoot the visuals for his Loose Ball single.
The now Atlanta-based dancehall artist said he doesn’t regret braving the pandemic and traveling to the island to capture the authenticity of Jamaica to compliment his buzzing single.
“The concept for the Loose Ball video was basically a vibe showing a mixture of the lifestyle of the Garrison and the lifestyle of Uptown, that personifies my own life as well,” he explained.
“Persons who have not been to Jamaica before or in a long while can connect to the unpolished flavor shown in this video, dancehall energy from Jamaica cannot be duplicated,” Akino added.
Akino shared that his decision to fly to Jamaica for the visuals has been paying off as he told DancehallMag that the authentic feel of the video has been helping to reel in new audiences and has received positive reviews from long-standing supporters.
The Loose Ball video was directed by Shane Creative and the single was released under the Program Over Everything Music imprint, the label to which the artist is now officially signed.
Akino Dirtfree used the occasion to share that he was looking to release additional material for his ever-growing fan base and will be returning to Jamaica soon for additional content.
He revealed that among his upcoming new material is a remix with music royalty Stephen Marley.
