Beenie Man’s Ex Krystal Tomlinson Reflects On Her ‘Hardest And Best Year Yet’ On 31st Birthday
Krystal Tomlinson, the former girlfriend of Dancehall heavyweight Beenie Man, celebrated her 31st birthday on June 8 with a little pizazz, as she shared snaps from a beachside photoshoot with her 268k Instagram followers.
Posing on a remote black-sand seascape, the Peoples National Party Youth Organization (PNPYO) president gave off sophisticated glam in the modelesque-looking photos, by @domzmedia_, as she reflected on her tempestuous journey over the last year.
“The last year: tested my balance but I was anchored, threw me off course but did not corrupt my divine compass, dented my hull but the ship did not sink,” she wrote in one Instagram post.
Tomlinson was thrown into the spotlight a few months back having gone through a very public breakup with the Girls Dem Sugar deejay. From dodging rumors of their ‘unofficial’ split as far back as October 2020 to Beenie’s insensitive breakup announcement in January, Tomlinson became the topic of unsolicited chatter online and the pity of others who thought Beenie downright made a spectacle of her.
As for her career, the politician also lost her bid to become a member of parliament for West Rural St Andrew when she went up against incumbent, Juliet Cuthbert. Cuthbert received 8,534 votes to Tomlinson’s 5,452, according to the Jamaica Gleaner.
“Millions witnessed me endure painful losses and failures. Some were happy at the thought that I’d drown. But so many more honoured and loved me through it,” she noted.
Through these trials, however, she said those rough experiences have made her nothing but stronger.
“I consider this my hardest and best year yet. After 31 revolutions around the sun I’m sure of my capacity to grow through any hardship. To find my dock in the roughest storm. To get to shore even when it feels like I’ll drown.”
Tomlinson continued, “The biggest lesson as I mark my 31st year: I can use any wind to get home. I only need to adjust my sails.” Then in reassuring everyone that she is as “anchored” as ever and ready to face whatever another year throws at her, she added, “I made it to land…whole, healing, hopeful and with all the courage and faith to set sail once again!”
Krystal also included hers and Beenie’s daughter, Xiah in her birthday photoshoot and wrote the little one a profound promise to always love and protect her.
“You will witness first hand the fierceness of my love for you and how much of myself I will sacrifice to keep you safe — And in the end you will owe me nothing,” Tomlinson wrote as part of her lengthy pledge.
Last year, Krystal shared another of her year’s journeys with a professionally done photo post and message on Instagram to welcome the big 3-0.
“I am acutely aware of my strength, my worthiness, the sacredness of my life energy. I will not waste it. I honour this #JourneyToThirty. I honour the struggle, the failures, the victories, the lessons. Here’s to the future and all it has in store🙏🏾,” she wrote at the time, unknowing of what would be her future challenges.
