Tarrus Riley Mourns Loss Of His Sister Jaffa Joy Riley-Douglas
Reggae singer Tarrus Riley has shared the devastating news that he lost his little sister Jaffa Joy Riley Douglas.
In an Instagram post today of his sister gesturing a salute, Riley wrote “Love Salute from My Beloved Likkle Sister ❤💛💚, Jaffa Joy Riley/Douglas 4eva in Our Heart.”
Riley told IRIE FM that his sister had suffered a massive heart attack and died over the weekend.
In his IG Stories, he wrote, “Honestly it is the worst time in my family life. little sister just passed away and we are going through it. It ruff.”
The Lighter singer also shared a photo of himself and his sister, and others of her graduating from what appears to be nursing school and participating in a candle lighting and pinning ceremony to signify the completion of a nursing program.
The outpouring of condolences and support from the fans was unwavering. “Speechless 😶 and Sad….sipp/ripl sweet Jaffa. Sincere Condolences to you Omar, Lavern, and the entire family💔🙏🏿😢💚💛❤️,” said one person.
Others commented, “My deepest condolences to you and your family… Its never easy loosening a love one 😞”, “RIP Queen! My condolences to you and the entire family bro,” and “Been keeping you and the family in my prayers… love and light always.”
Riley followed up with a response, “Thank you all for the well-wishes and support,” in his Instagram stories.
It seems his Instagram account couldn’t have been restored at a more fitting time. Just over a week ago, the singer told his fans via a public video release that his account had been hacked. At the time, Riley asked everyone and especially his almost 800,000 followers to not unfollow the account while he and his team worked to recover it.
Thankfully he regained control of his IG and made his first post today but unfortunately, it was to reveal the tragic news.
