Popcaan Drops Visuals For New Single ‘Find Dem’: Watch
Dancehall pacesetter Popcaan is back on the scene with a brand new track Find Dem, and the matching music video courtesy of director Ezra Tafari that dropped yesterday, July 3.
In a joint production with Karey Records and his label, Unruly Entertainment, Popcaan’s new track issues a firm warning to those responsible for the escalating crime rate in society. The Dancehall star is at his wit’s end, like the crime-fighting public who wants nothing more than to see these lawbreakers be caught and punished.
Dishing his execrating lyrics, he takes them out the same way they perpetuate their own violence on others. “Dead boy dem, anytime bad man find dem … gun dem down, gun gem down, rifle a beat like rough-cut drum. Man find dem house and bun dem down, gunshot in a you face in a di brawling sun. YG go fi dem wid bare long gun, boy fall like tree and drop pon ground,” the 867Gad warns.
The music video, now at 250,000 views since its release less than 24 hours ago, depicts scenes of a typical pickpocket on the move. Snatching the purse of an unsuspecting elder, a thug takes off running but is noticed and subsequently chased by a crew of men who decides to take matters into their own hands.
The chase takes viewers through the narrow zinc enclosed lanes and trenches of an inner-city locale and ends on a rooftop refuge. The thief finally gets a chance to rummage through the stolen items in the purse but is quickly caught up by his pursuers. With no escape, he’s taken hostage to eventually get what he deserves. Before that was his epic team up with Beres Hammond in March on the single God is Love. Then there was Win and Memory along with his 4-track Gyalentines EP in February.
Poppy also made a cameo appearance in the music video Why Not by rap trio Migos last month. And he was featured on track Sekkle & Bop with Mr. Eazi and Dre Skull the same month.
