Dancehall star Beenie Man pushed back on Friday against what he described were “rumors” that his brother Rohan ‘Blue’ Smith was killed.

In an Instagram video, Beenie Man said he woke up to a call that Smith had received multiple gunshots. “Dem thing deh nah right, man. Stop spread rumor pon we nah man,” he said. “Ah suh unu wan see wi dead, like seriously”.

He ended the brief video, saying that “nothing like that never happened”.

Smith is also the Executive Manager to the King of the Dancehall.

“Their professional partnership began with Blue as his personal assistant. In 2006 he took on a Managerial role, amassing over a decade of experience developing and unlocking the value of Beenie’s brand,” according to his bio on Beenie Man’s website.

It continued: “As team leader at MD Entertainment his role extends to business development and brand expansion, making him the lead negotiator on all matters related to Brand Beenie.”

Beenie’s rebuttal of the potentially devastating misinformation comes after his mother, Lilieth Sewell, passed away last year.  Unable to cope on the day of her funeral, he fainted and was ushered away from the site by four men.

Beenie Man, 47, is set to release a new album this summer titled  Simma“Wi actually a wait pon a release date from VP records but the album is already complete, everything done – the pictures, already take, the cover already been made an everything, suh yah man, di album is actually finished,” he said earlier this year.
