Bounty Killer, Tony Matterhorn’s Latest Feud: Everything You Need To Know
The Warlord may have been all about unity on last year’s Verzuz battle, but it seems he’s been saving all his steam for another decade-old dancehall rival.
Bounty Killer and Tony Matterhorn’s latest social media squabble dates back nearly thirteen years, and began over a female according to the popular sound selector. The simmering feud resurfaced after comments Bounty Killer made on Fat Joe’s IGTV show two weeks ago. The Never Stop deejay hit back in quick time, taking to his Instagram Live to air out the 5 Star General.
Matterhorn said Bounty styled him as “ungrateful” among other unsavory comments on Fat Joe’s weekly Live. It seems the Dutty Wine hitmaker has had enough of Bounty throwing dirt on his name, and he lashed out to his followers in a viral rant.
“Mi deven trouble di guy, an di guy trouble mi and then mi fire mi shot dem and dem ah bawl. Yuh have some people weh love f—k round people and dem nuh expect yuh fi fire. Yuh cyaan trouble me and me nuh fire shot! Me nuh know bout dat!” Matterhorn said.
He continued: “From yuh trouble me, me an yuh a go war, an Killer fi stop do dem f—y deh, stop gwaan like a likkle b—h and trouble people and then gwaan like yuh nuh trouble dem. Stop it, you ah big old man now. Yuh soon turn grandfather if you ah nuh grandfather.”
“To yuh fans dem and yuh friends dem, you ah mek it look like ah me. Me trouble yuh? Nuh you go b—t seh di wrong ting?” he added.
The so-called “wrong ting” that set Matterhorn off was Bounty’s response to a comment on an upcoming selector’s Instagram video. The original comment likened the selector’s skills to Matterhorn’s, to which Bounty allegedly replied “Matterhorn nah gwaan wid nothing”, suggesting that DJ Khaled was a better comparison.
This understandably upset Matterhorn, who has a history of beef with Killer over comparisons to DJ Khaled.
“This nuh have nothing to do wid Fat Joe”, he angrily told his followers. Dis haffi do wid what Killer did an knowing what he did an ah style it. Like yuh waan seh mi ah Judas an mi betray you when ah you f—n betray me fi a gyal. Don’t do dat. Me will war fi dat. If yuh nah go talk di truth den don’t b—t seh nothing,” he said.
He elaborated on the nature of the ‘betrayal’, claiming Killer was insecure over what was purely a platonic friendship.
“You hate Matterhorn fi a gyal weh me never f—k, a gyal weh a my friend. Mi swear pon di bl—t Bible! You meet a bl—t gyal pon internet weh a my fren an yuh start look di gyal and di gyal tell yuh say me and her we mad cool and you hated me for that, because yuh feel mi f—k di gyal,” Matterhorn said.
Needless to say, both entertainers are still taking jabs as allegations swirl.
Killer flexed his bountiful catalog for his latest response in the ongoing saga. He posted an audio clip with a cryptic caption from one of his earliest diss tracks, Actions Speak Louder Than Words .
The song is found on his aptly titled 1993 album No Argument, and he made sure the snippet held some of the song’s most loaded lines: “Well action speak louder than words/ But bad man nuh talk, better if yuh observe/ Empty barrel mek noise but bad man nuh talk/ Nuff ah dem ah diss an cyaan pay di cost/ When di gun pop off, a nation dead off/ Nuh mek mi get bringle an guh ever think dark.”

This isn’t the first time that the Dancehall veterans have been at odds on social media.
In 2015, Bounty blasted Tony Matterhorn for wearing a wig during his After Dark programme. Matterhorn defended himself and said, “I’m not the first person to wear wig. Ninjaman and Vegas have done it also. But me realise say a nuh the wig a the issue, a me him have a problem wid.”
Later that year, Bounty accused Matterhorn of hacking his Instagram page after he posted a screenshot of Bounty liking a photo of a female, who was later revealed to be transvestite.
In 2017, the bitter feud escalated to include their kids with Matterhorn claiming that Killer had a “gay” son whom he was hiding.
Following the release of DJ Khaled’s 2017 album, Grateful, Bounty Killer taunted Matterhorn about the American DJ’s success. “When @djkhaled was a smaller selector for @toneymatterhorn4 look who made it big today. Ungratefulness is a b-tch big up @DjKhaled who has the #1 album out now with the name Grateful alway be grateful folks,” Killer wrote at the time.
Matterhorn hit back by saying that former Alliance protégés Vybz Kartel and Mavado had eclipsed Bounty Killer.
