When Buju Banton hurled a series of insults at Government Minister Alando Terrelonge on Instagram on Friday, many Dancehall fans were mortified, since the junior Culture, Gender and Entertainment Minister was defending the rights of Jamaican women against sexual harassment.

Buju made four posts in quick succession in the comments section in a Jamaica Star article which was shared in Instagram and which quoted Terrelonge, as urging his colleagues in the Lower House of Parliament to prepare themselves to impose legislation against “vulgar catcalling”,  which is usually perpetrated by pestilent males who “seek to strip women of their dignity”, when debating the Sexual Harassment Bill on Tuesday.

“This fool forget that he has a job to do. Is this it???” Buju wrote in his first insult at the junior Minister who is the Member of Parliament for St Catherine East Central.

The Man a Look You artist’s expressions though, were condemned by  sagedawsonxo, who implied that the Gargamel was not only uncharitable to the junior Minister, but seemed not to be in his right mind.

“@bujubanton so MPs can only focus on one thing at a time? This society will never progress because y’all don’t take the issues of sexual harassment and violence seriously. Take your meds old man,” he wrote.

Buju was also rebuked by encantador12 who described his behavior as shameful.

“@bujubanton men like you are the reason why women no longer have respect and obviously you think we don’t deserve it shame on you,” she said, while kash.haliwell in expressing agreement, said that she was “shocked him behaving like that when women’s protection is the topic”.

In his second attack, Buju took aim at the entire Government.

“U are all called honorable? What is honorable about any of you? Please tell Jamaica. Or. We will,” he wrote, before being promptly dismissed by shadae86 and bosienkw.

“@bujubanton you can keep whatever info you have not gonna be or is beneficial,” shadae86 mocked.

“@bujubanton I see you now spreading fraud and bogus news. Is that the best you can do? You smoke dope and act like you’re a true saviour of the people. You spread false rumours about the murder of Haiti prime minister when in fact he was killed by his own people and a few para military Colombians. Continue to make great music and stop with your crap,” bosienkw said, then added later: “Man move like a dance bat . Him smoke a whole heap of dope and act like him pure -old crack head dat”.

Another commenter, biancawillis876, said that the Til Shiloh artist had lost his way.

“@bujubanton has lost my respect…Buju, STAY AWAY FROM DRUGS! You came out of prison and we were all behind you but whatever you smoking is frying your brain. You have become a laughing stock. Stick to music,” she wrote.

In his third note, Buju Banton wrote: “All sexual perverts and boy lovers be on notice”.  However, this, as was perhaps expected, was met with cheers and no objections.

In his fourth and final post, Buju took aim at The Star’s editors and Reverend Aaron Dumas of the tabloid’s iconic Tell Me Pastor counseling column.

“Star print this if u have balls u keep Jamaica in the dark u want us to be stupid all u push is TELL ME PASTOR and his whoredom u must be held accountable,” he wrote.

While he also got support for his final remark, there was one follower rudegamers18, who found his entire tirade amusing.

“@bujubanton 😂😂😂😂 buju Yu need a podcast mi boss. Yu entertaining baddd😂😂,” he wrote.
