Jahvillani’s ‘Dirt To Bentley’ First Week Album Sales Are In
Dancehall deejay Jahvillani’s album Dirt To Bentley dropped recently, exploring topics such as life, women, money, and success. The 13-track project was hailed in our review as a contemplative debut “with as many flex anthems as compelling affirmations.”
Following the July 9 release, Dirt To Bentley sold 33 copies in pure album sales in the first week in the United States, according to data provided to DancehallMag by sales tracker MRC Data (formerly Nielsen SoundScan). Total consumption from pure album sales plus stream equivalent albums was 225 units. This included 218,218 audio streams and 76,196 video streams in the US, according to MRC.
In a release, VP Records noted that Jahvillani‘s album debuted at No. 14 on the US Current Reggae Albums chart.
“The lead single from the album, Pro-Gress was ranked at #1 on the Jamaica Trending Chart on YouTube when released. The video has been viewed 647K times, and has more than 3.3K comments expressing appreciation for the songs content,” they added.
“The follow-up single for which the album is named, Dirt to Bentley, features the smooth vocals of New York-based Dancehall star Kranium. The two tell the story about their rise from humble beginnings (‘dirt’) to their successes (‘Bentley’).”
Jahvillani, whose real name is Dujon Mario Edwards, is best known for hit songs like Clarks Pon Foot, Nuh Reason, Rubberband, and Sunday To Sunday.
