Jada Kingdom Silent On Singles But Dominating Collabs With Male Artists
If you are a male artist looking for that perfect mix of harmony, risqué and sweet love-making feature, then Dancehall songstress Jada Kingdom will give you the right verse or chorus that your song is missing.
While Jada may be silent on the release of new singles, she is surely giving us back-to-back unforgettable collaborations in recent remixes with D’yani, Chronic Law, Kash Promise Move, and Tanzanian singer and songwriter Mr. Lambert. The latest — but problematic — collab is Love Experience with TeeJay.
After revealing in January that she may be unable to release new music this year, Jada Kingdom took to Instagram in May and declared that “mi aguh remix some of my fav songs right now.” The move was thought to be a workaround to an impasse with her previous management, which had sued her for defamation in April.
In Feelings by D’yani, Jada, without delay, opens the song with a rather potent line reminding D’yani that she had warned him about the power of the p—y. “Like yuh nuh memba mi did warn yuh bout that p—y yah/ and mi did tell you dis a sumn you nuh ready fah.”
While we only hear Jada in the first verse of the song and few harmonies throughout, her presence no doubt contributed significantly to the song. Feelings, with only the May 8 release of a lyric video racked up 2.9 million views on YouTube and was trending for YouTubeJM. D’yani, who became popular for his previous collab with Maestro Don on Senorita, surely capitalized on his newfound popularity by securing Jada’s Feelings.
In You Alone Remix with Chronic Law and Ride Remix with Kash Promise Move, we definitely heard more from Jada.
You Alone, released on May 18, was a refreshing break from Chronic Law’s often more contemplative style. Leave it to Jada to bring out the lover boy in anyone.
Though, Ride has not picked up much traction on YouTube since its June 18 release, it is no doubt a good play for a bedroom list. Jada sings sweetly to her climax in the chorus, salaciously repeating “Ride ride ride…and don’t stop.”
Unlike many artists, who are more cautious with collaborations, Jada declared in her recent Instagram Live that she loves collaborating with other artists. This is a great move for the music industry as it shows unity amongst the artists and versatility as it relates to their competence.
However, collabs are not without their share of drama, as each artist have their own uniqueness and specificity as to the treatment of their music. So, though Jada enjoys collaborating, Twinkle will speak out if the collaboration was not handled smoothly.
As we have seen with the release of Love Experience by Tee ay and the release of Pause by Mr. Lambert, for which Jada, in her Instagram live, lamented that the version of Love Experience was not approved by her and that she had not known about the release of the music video for Pause.
Nevertheless, the songs are giving what they are supposed to, as Love Experience trends number 10 on YouTubeJM and Pause carries Jada’s vocals to the homeland continent, Africa.
There is no surprise that Jada’s features with male artists create a sensual Bonnie and Clyde bedroom edition as in the past we have seen her do just that on tracks such as Tek it with Skillibeng, Suh Me Luv it with Popcaan, and Bedroom Bully with her lover Verse Simmonds.
While we may be in our Feelings for the lack of releases of singles by Kingdom, we definitely have a few more collabs to spice up the bedroom and enjoy the Love Experience.
