Major Hints That TeeJay Left Romeich Entertainment Because Of His “Mental State”
According to music manager Romeich Major, an artist who was signed to Romeich Entertainment had left the management company because of his “mental state.” Romeich is now known as co-manager to Dancehall starlet Shenseea , as well as Ding Dong and up until a few weeks ago TeeJay , who confirmed that he had left the Romeich Entertainment camp , and has retained the services of Sharon Burke’s Solid Agency.
Major hinted at a reason for TeeJay’s departure upon joining DJ LavaSound’s Chat and Laugh Instagram series on Saturday night. He had apparently just wrapped up the performance with Shenseea at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami and was very irked about the not-so-positive reviews that popped up online from some Jamaican commentators.
The music manager argued that no matter how much he and his team represented for the island abroad or did good for the Jamaican people through his many philanthropic efforts, they will forever continue to spread negativity and speak unkindly of him.
The conversation with Lava and his guests quickly turned to rumors involving Major; particularly those labeling him as a ‘bad manager’, which allegedly and supposedly caused TeeJay and Shenseea to leave the Romeich Entertainment camp.
“As uno see one likkle mix-up uno come bash people. One artist lef the team over fi him mental state,” he hinted, in an apparent reference to TeeJay.
Romeich would later address those who claimed that he did nothing for TeeJay’s career. “All uno weh say mi nuh do nothing fi di man career, uno a some ba—y man!” he declared.
“Mi nuh know how uno fi look pon the artiste and say mi never do nothing fi him career. When mi sign dem, dem have less than 100k followers, dem have 800k and odd now. When mi sign dem, dem never have 100k subscribers, dem have 600k and odd subscriber. When mi sign dem, dem never have a work permit… dem have work permit and go tour the world.”
He added, “And the same artiste weh buss in a di same time wid dem, where are they now? … So how uno fi come tell mi say mi nuh do notn?”
Major also addressed the speculation that followed Shenseea’s introduction of her new manager Lebanese-Canadian industry executive Wassim ‘Sal’ Slaiby .
“And den one next one [Shenseea] come and say she have a new manager … the woman never look and say yo, Romeich nuh manage her again enuh? Uno just show how uno negative,” he said.
Shenseea had told the Observer earlier this month that she will still be working closely with Major now that she is signed to Slaiby, who also manages The Weeknd, Doja Cat, Diddy, Rvssian, and several other international musicians and producers. “This is a joint team effort and I am very loyal. I will still be working closely with Romeich Entertainment, I have my old team and a new team,” she told the newspaper. “I feel like I’m starting over, but with experience, but on a bigger level.”
Major’s appearance on stage at Rolling Loud, as he rolled the Blessed singer out in a jerk pan, would prove that they are still in business.
When TeeJay confirmed his split from the Romeich Entertainment camp earlier last month, he had said there were no “bad vibes” between himself and Romeich . The UpTop Boss explained that the move was purely to progress his career.
