Dancehall veteran Bounty Killer is celebrating an iTunes Top 10 track more than half a decade after its original release.

Ahead of his promised King of Kingston album that is slated to arrive this year, Bounty Killer is enjoying some notable milestones in his veteran music career. The deejay whose song Mama Gone but not Forgotten was featured on the recently released compilation album Reggae Vaccine has now earned himself a top 10 song on the iTunes Top 100 Reggae Songs chart.

According to Pop Vortex, Mama Gone but not Forgotten is currently No. 6 on the chart in the brag-worthy company of hits like Three Little Birds by Bob Marley & The Wailers, It Wasn’t Me by Shaggy, I Can See Clearly Now by Jimmy Cliff, and more.

The Bounty Killer track was originally released in 2014 in honor of his mother who passed away two years prior.

Taking to Instagram to react to the news of his top 10 iTunes track, Bounty shared a screenshot of the chart alongside a caption paying tribute to his mom.

“Six years ago I dedicated this song to my mom on her passing now today it has found itself in the iTunes top 100 charts featured on the reggae vaccine compilation album how ironic is that such a blessing from jah and my mother shining on LOVE YOU MAMA,” he wrote with three heart emojis.

Bounty Killer has immortalized his mother in countless tracks, interviews and in his frequent commemorations, allowing the dancehall community to share in her memory. Fans responded to the deejay’s post with their heartfelt congratulations for Bounty Killer and condolences for the late Miss Ivy. ”

She would be so proud of you,” one commenter wrote. “Everlasting,” another said about the song’s timeless nature.

The Reggae Vaccine album that features Mama Gone but not Forgotten by Bounty Killer saw a surge in sales last month after the success of the Ed Sheeran-assisted song Dream (remix) by Jethro “Lonestar” Sheeran.

The album was spearheaded by Sean “Contractor” Edwards of Contractor Music who produced the compilation along with Top Braff Entertainment, Urban Angel and Digital Production.

Led by the title track by Julian Marley, Reggae Vaccine previously received a nod from Jamaica’s Minister of Entertainment and Culture, Olivia “Babsy” Grange. “I would really like to commend this project and the song ‘Reggae Vaccine’ by Julian Marley,” she said.

Sean Edwards also revealed that he used the power of the Marley name to drive the project. “You need a Marley to heal the people, and that’s one of the reasons why I chose Julian to lead Reggae Vaccine,” he said in a statement.

Other artists featured on the album include Wayne Wonder, Gyptian, Anthony B, Jahvinci, and more.
