The moment finally arrived last night when the ‘Country Boy’ Charly Black hit the CONCACAF Gold Cup stage to perform the tournament’s official theme song Juega with Colombian Latin Pop music duo, Cali Y El Dandee.

The Jamaican Dancehall star rose to the occasion and gave an electric performance in front of more than 60k World Cup fans at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday to close out games.

Leave it to the Party Animal singer to rep the Jamaican colors in style during the performance. With his signature black, green, and gold bandana in place, Black and Cali Y El Dandee got the crowd cheering and on their feet as they delivered the powerful lyrics of the anthem in both English and Spanish, fusing a Reggae and Latin sound on a pulsating beat that captured the collective essence of the regions’ sport.

As the first Jamaican artist to be chosen to make a theme song for the competition, Charly shared the momentous occasion with his Instagram followers.

“So many times I was invited to Las Vegas and I said I won’t go until im working,” he began.  “Last night i got to perform infront of 61,547 patrons in attendance at the (allegiant stadium) plus the millions watching the @goldcup finals worldwide while I represent my country 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲even though my team never made it to the finals I’m still proud of them👏👏👏big up @calidandee yeah a mad thing.”

Earlier this year, news surfaced that Black was invited to appear on the 2021 World Cup theme song as a way to embody the CONCACAF games that unifies mainly the Caribbean and Spanish-speaking countries.

At the time Black said he was glad for the exposure the experience would bring to the culture, “This is no doubt a great look for dancehall and the culture on a whole. The exposure it will bring is immeasurable,” he said.

“Dancehall brings a flavor like no other genre, so it says a lot that they had to bring that element to the track to represent a huge tournament like this. The song is really catchy and it will get played a lot on TV, and as I always say, God is in control,” he continued.

The hitmaker brother duo, Cali y El Dandee, and Charly wrote the lyrics for the song and subsequently shot the music video back in June at David Beckham’s Inter Miami CF Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.  The official visuals for Juega dropped just a week ago during the games.
