Shenseea Says She’s Got Her ‘Haters’ Showing Support
Blessed singer Shenseea has attracted her fair share of ‘opps’ since she entered Dancehall music. Now five years later, she’s got a major label deal and high profile management, and her new single Run Run is doing well after she made her debut appearance at one of Hip-Hop’s biggest festivals recently.
Seemingly bombarded with positive feedback from a legion of reformed ‘haters’, Shenseea couldn’t help but point out the irony in receiving their support today.
Taking to Twitter to air out her thoughts on the matter, the 24-year-old wrote “When your haters start showing support because they can’t stop you, that’s when you KNOW you doing good in life!”
“When me look inna the mirror mi a the strongest support I see!” she added in another Tweet.
When your haters start showing support because they can't stop you, that's when you KNOW you doing good in life!

Prior to her latest single Run Run, Shenseea had been on a roll in her quest for international success. The Dancehall singer recently announced signing with new manager Wassim “Sal” Slaiby, CEO of XO Records. The Canadian music executive has quite the roster under his control and manages artists like The Weeknd, Diddy, Doja Cat, French Montana, Ty Dolla $ign, Bryson Tiller, Bebe Rexha, and more.
The Trick’a Treat singer then made her debut appearance on the Rolling Loud stage in Miami where she performed recent and previous hits.
“When I just started, people kept telling me ‘This is a MALE dominated industry!’,” she wrote on Twitter following the performance. “I am the first artiste from Jamaica to perform on @RollingLoud’s stage! A WOMAN!!!!! DID THAT! Not a d-ck A Cl-t made history, honey!”
Next, she set the microphone ablaze when she visited Hot97 in New York and recorded a freestyle over Skillibeng’s Crocodile Teeth instrumental that has since gone viral.
In other Shenyeng sightings, she was also spotted hanging out with some of America’s top female rappers like Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion, who appeared to be a big fan.
Meanwhile, the tweet today comes after Shenseea celebrated her late mother’s birthday yesterday. The singer shared a photo of her mom and her son on Instagram with the caption, “If I had one wish it would’ve been to get you back! Happy Birthday Mom we miss you.”
