Foota Hype Releasing ‘Dollars And Sense’ Riddim On Friday
Foota Hype has announced that he will be releasing a new riddim come Friday, which will feature the likes of Mr Vegas, Busy Signal, and several upcoming artists.
Dubbed Dollars and Sense, the riddim comes four years after Foota produced one of Nesbeth’s biggest hits Success Story, which was a follow-up to the singer’s 2015 massive hit My Dream, which topped several Reggae charts locally and overseas.
“Feeling absolutely gr8 about my new project DOLLARS AND SENSE the launch was amazing @galliswednesdayz liked it I feel proud of myself,” Foot Hype wrote on Instagram a few days ago.
“Give thanks to all the artiste that blessed this production with their talent pre-order August 13th on all platforms release date August 20 on all platforms distributed by @hapilos,” he added.
Foota posted a video of Zip FM disc jockey ZJ Liquid in studio premiering the tracks on Jamaican radio.

The Cassava Piece native was praised by his fans who said they were looking forward to the full release on Friday.
“Riddim Tuff…u need fi put out some albums to… call dem up,” afarclothingofficial said, while muirkelon added: “Riddim bad, and it hit them type yah dancehall riddim yah wi need”.
Known more for his juggling at Dancehall events, and his take-no-prisoners musings on Instagram, Foota has been involved in music production for many years.
In 2016, through his Foota Hype Music label, he released the Dark Knight riddim, which featured a galaxy of stars including Beenie Man with Duppy in a Pretty Clothes, Aidonia with Fat 40, Demarco with We Run the World, and Bugle with Nuh Accommodation.
Known for being an advocate of clash music, Foota had Spice and Macka Diamond going at it with Miss Universe and War respectively, Shane O with Evil, and his then protégé Fully Bad, with Pelelele.
Foota also produced the Gully Creature Riddim, which featured the like of artistes such as Bounty Killer, Sizzla, Mavado and Wyclef Jean.
Nuh Friend Fish, was the track from the Warlord, while Mavado scored with Touch Di Road. Wyclef’s contribution was FBI, while Sizzla got gangster with Gunshot Yuh Get.
The other tracks on the riddim were Bruk Out by Elephant Man, Mad Head And Sick Head by Mad Cobra and Predator, He´s Sizzla Leaving You, by Ishawna and Never Hesitate by Munga Honourble.
Nesbeth’s Success Story became an anthem in schools and the wider Jamaica in 2017, and prompted Foota and the artiste to stage a competition inspired by the song which was produced on Foota’s Motherland riddim, and which relived the story of Nesbeth’s formative years, underscoring his highs and lows.
Motherland also featured Where Is the Love by IOctane and Tick bruk inn dem ears by Fully Bad.
Foota has not been the only music selector who ventured into music production. On December 19 last year Grants Pen selector Boom Boom officially launched his debut production, the BMW riddim which featured tracks from Spice, Skillibeng, Ding Dong, I Waata, Elephant Man, Intence, and other artists.
BMW was the first riddim to ever feature both Skillibeng and his arch-rival Intence, a feat Boom Boom said resulted from the level of respect that both artists had for him.
Boom Boom began his career on the Invaders sound system in Grants Pen, and, like Foota Hype, had major support from artistes including Bounty Killer, Singing Sweet, Flex and Mavado and his skills honed by Bass Odyssey, Stone Love and Travellers sound systems.
