Kranium’s ‘Nobody Has To Know’ Hits 100 Million Views On YouTube
The Melody Gad Kranium, who recently celebrated his birthday, has another reason to celebrate as his hit single Nobody Has To Know has reached a mega milestone on YouTube.
The single, which was originally released in 2013, was re-released in 2015 to feature American rapper Ty Dolla Sign, and the video has now amassed 100 million views on YouTube. Kranium, whose real name is Kemar Donaldson, gained international recognition from the 2013 release of Nobody Has To Know, which led to him joining the Atlantic Records label.
Nobody Has To Know, produced by Lamar Michael Reynolds of PLMR Productions, peaked at No. 44 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart before it was certified gold in the United States by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in September 2019 for sales of more than 500,000 copies.
The song was also certified gold in Canada for selling 40,000 copies, and silver in the United Kingdom for sales of more than 200,000 copies.
Now in 2021, Nobody Has To Know is still showing staying power as it’s being streamed heavily. The St James native wrote in a timely Tweet yesterday, “I have this thing no matter how old my records is they still be sounding fresh”.

In an interview with DancehallMag earlier this year, Kranium said, “when Nobody Has To Know came out in 2013/4 it put me in a space where I was the only one with a big hit record. So when I started going on the road now, I realize that when I dropped Buy Weh You Want Buy , there’s was a difference between that and Nobody Has To Know . So I learned the difference between a known song and a hit song. So I just didn’t want anymore known song, I wanted hit songs.”
Other hit singles from the very humble Dancehall singer include Can’t Believe featuring Ty Dolla Sign and Wizkid, the Risky Remix with Davido, and Last Night released in 2018. He has since followed up with the 2020 smash Gal Policy which appeared on his Toxic EP. The five-song collection included Through the Window , the titled track Toxic , Wont Judge and Block Traffic featuring Rytikal.
His Rumours album peaked at No. 6 on Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart in 2015, while Midnight Sparks peaked at No. 5 in 2019. Both albums were released by Atlantic Records.
Kranium has also collaborated with Alkaline on Just The Style , and recently with Jahvillani on Dirt to Bentley .
The singer has been teasing his next release, slated for August 26.
