Bounty Killer Confirms Shabba Ranks Among 30+ Artists To Feature On ‘King Of Kingston’
Just over three months shy of the release of his King of Kingston album, Bounty Killer has revealed another tidbit about the long-awaited production. According to the Dancehall veteran, the Damian ‘Jr Gong’ Marley-produced album will now have at least a record-breaking 30 featured artists—including the Grammy Award winner Shabba Ranks–gracing it with their vocals.
“The long awaited most anticipated dancehall project in the last two decade…KING OF KINGSTON the double disc al-bombs slated to drop December. Surly wont dispoints just to give a little insight here’s a few of the guest appearing on the project… Dancehall recharge reset and realignment,” he wrote in an Instagram post yesterday.

Bounty Killer indicated that in addition to Shabba Ranks, the album which is slated to be released in December, will feature a slew of singers including Chronixx, Stephen Marley, Barrington Levy, Dexta Daps, Omi, Romain Virgo, Christopher Martin, Olaf Blackwood who also recently featured on Spice’s Ten album, Junior Gong himself, Nesbeth, Aisha Davis and Wayne Marshall.
Dancehall deejays on the album include his protégé Vybz Kartel, Agent Sasco, Spragga Benz, Busy Signal, Dancehall pioneer Big Youth, Bling Dawg, and Blakkman.
The duo of Brian and Tony Gold, who are his longtime collaborators, are also included, as well as his favorite vocalist Richie Stephens, with whom he has recorded the largest number of duets.
Outside of Jamaica, Junior Gong and Bounty have co-opted Bunji Garlin, Busta Rhymes, and DJ Khaled.
In addition, Bounty’s son Major Myjah, Leah, Bena, Stassi Pryce are also featured.
Killer has also expressed his desire to have the late King Of Reggae Bob Marley featured on the album. “If I had one last song to do, that’s the song I would want to do. Jr. Gong producing the album and I asked him, and I don’t know how Chris Blackwell [Island Records Founder] gonna go about that, but that’s a collaboration I dream of,” he told Entertainment Report last month.
Bounty Killer is no stranger to collaborations with multiple artists. In 2014 he was a part of King Yellowman’s track Champion, which featured Dancehall legends such as Shabba Ranks, Ninja Man, Tiger, Bounty Killer, Capleton, Sizzla, Shabba Ranks, Lady G, Burru Banton, Buju Banton, Josie Wales, General Trees and Peter Metro.
He also partnered with Busta Rhymes and Junior Reid on Change like the Weather from his My Xperience album, The Fugees, Wyclef Jean, Mobb Deep as well as Swizz Beatz and AZ. His 2001 Hey Baby collab with No Doubt peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100 and won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.
His compatriot Richie Stephens has been a longstanding collaborator of the Warlord. The two partnered on several songs over the decades including the hit track Maniac in 1996, Pot of Gold, Life to Live, Money talk, Outcry, Luv A Dub Style and Magnet on the Quick Sand Riddim on General Degree’s Size Eight Label in 1999.
His collabs with Brian and Tony Gold, who will also feature on King of Kingston, are well known. Bounty was part of the duo’s Vibe With Us track from their Riddim Driven: Hot Gyal album, which was Released in 2003.
The two Golds also featured on Bounty’s Next Millenium album where they featured on the song Love That’s Real, which was released in 1998 on Shaggy’s former Big Yard label. The Coppershot artist recently shared a post bragging about Love That’s Real in his Instagram page, claiming that the song, like his many others, had stood the test of time.

In a subsequent post, he highlighted the collab with Brian and Tony Gold for King of Kingston, where he shared an excerpt of the Shaggy-produced track.
“Y’all asked for it there u go real authentic reggae lovers rock for the ladies love song and not fux song for a change Rub A Dub vibes the first dancehall I fell in love with…Can’t Get Enough King of Kingston. #Brian&TonyGold Produced By @ranchent @direalshaggy @tonygold65,” he wrote.
