Nicki Minaj Celebrates Another Platinum Hit With These Gage Lyrics
Rap queen Nicki Minaj celebrated another platinum hit by quoting a line from a Gage song in a recent Instagram caption.
Minaj, 38, was featured on BIA’s Whole Lotta Money remix back in July and it seems the track has been certified platinum in the United States. BIA’s breakout hit was released in December of last year but the young rapper’s career was so greatly bolstered by Mrs. Petty’s presence on the remix, that she sent her a Thank You gift.
Minaj shared the good news and the sparkling “BARBIA” chain with her 157M followers along with a line from dancehall deejay Gage’s 2018 hit, Good P—y Gyal Fi Get Things .
Before BIA, Minaj hopped on tracks with the likes of Doja Cat and Tekashi 6ix9ine, both relatively new artists who reached Billboard No. 1 with their respective features. The Monster hitmaker shared the exciting news with her Barbz and dropped a little dancehall to show her excitement.
“#wholeLottaMoney is PLATINUM,” the caption began. “@bia this fkng chain is soooooo freaking dope. Thank you mama!!!! Love youuuuuuuu. S/O to the fans for the support. No video. Just organic tingz. Good p—y gyal fi get dem ting ya #BarBIA real btchs do real shit.”
Gage’s 2018 Jugglerz collaboration received major rotation and ratings at the time of its release for showering deserving ladies with plenty of material goods. “Good p—y gyal fi get tings/ Me will buy a gyal a house and buy a gyal a car, spend pon ih too ah so mi do mi ting/ Buy har a acre ah land and a big mansion, put on the ring, ah so mi do mi ting,” Gage rhymed on the track.
Minaj is a longtime Dancehall fan, collaborating with the likes of Gyptian, Sean Kingston, and rival deejays Vybz Kartel and Mavado in her illustrious career.
More recently, Minaj’s Crocodile Teeth remix feat East Syde prodigy Skillibeng topped Youtube trending charts for weeks in May. Last week, she followed Skillibeng’s revival Intence on Instagram and hinted that she would be open to collab with the Go Hard deejay.
She’s also followed a whole host of other Dancehall stars including Queen Ladi Gangster, Pamputtae and P.R.T, Spice’s former dancers turned reality stars comprised of Keticia ‘TC’ Chatman, Tashlicka ‘Prettii Prettii’ Laird, and Christina ‘Dancing Rebel’ Nelson.
