Emerging singjay Nauseouss doesn’t believe in mandatory vaccinations but believes that vaccination should remain a personal choice.

“People have to fight for their freedom. There are levels to this vaccination thing, I have antibodies in my system to protect me, I got COVID-19 and cured myself. I have no problem with vaccines, and there are people who take the two doses and still get sick and dead, and others who take it and it saved them from hospitalization but to each their own; knowledge is power,” the artiste, whose real name is Simon Whyte, reasoned.

“People have to make up their own minds, wear your masks, practise social distancing, do what’s best to protect your family, use your tumeric, take your magnesium and zinc, survival is the key,” he said.

There is a strong vaccine hesitancy among Jamaicans which has pushed public discourse on making the administration of the jab mandatory, although Prime Minister Holness has repeatedly insisted that the Government is not yet at that point. The Ministry of Health and Wellness is seeking to achieve a 65% vaccination target for the population by March 2022.

In the meantime, Nauseouss is in Jamaica promoting his single, Memories, which was released on the Nijeri Records in early September.

“The response to Memories has been great, especially in The Gambia. The song is getting airplay on IRIE, HITZ and the fans are asking for the video, That’s why I will be doing Memories first as soon as possible. so I want to begin shooting this weekend or ASAP,” he said.
