I-Octane Seeks To Take Care Of His People On ‘Bagga Money’: Listen
Dancehall/Reggae Recording Artist I-Octane has been a voice for the streets, a show stopper and closer, and an artist that continues to make hits. With classics to his name like “Puff It”, “Wine & Jiggle”, “Mama You Alone”, “Next”, “My Life”, and “Lose A Friend” among others, Octane has steadily built his catalog over the years to be recognized as a Dancehall star.
I-Octane has his share of controversy and has spoken his mind on a few topics via Social Media, but he continues to put the same energy into creating and releasing new content. Recently, he started a “Poor People Party” campaign with the intent to defend and uplift his people. Similar to Dancehall legend Bounty Killer’s role as the “Poor People’s Governor”, Octane has assumed the role as the “Poor People Lawyer”.
In his role, he has called out Government officials, highlighted the conditions many Jamaicans are experiencing and has demanded better opportunities for people in impoverished circumstances. He continues the fight on his new single, “Bagga Money”.
Produced by Conquer The Globe Production/Izreal, I-Octane speaks on the many struggles that Jamaicans face daily, and has provided words of encouragement that things will get better. He requests that money be shared among the ghetto people, as they deserve to live a life that’s better than their struggles. Octane utilizes a melodic delivery assisted by the use of Autotune over a smooth production.
I-Octane continues his campaign through a series of Instagram videos, including a recent video that found him lashing out at Prime Minister Andrew Holness, and highlighting people scavenging for necessities at the Riverton City dump in Kingston. He also previewed a series of photos that suggest that a music video for “Bagga Money” is on the way.
What do you think of I-Octane’s latest single? Has he been doing a good job at being the “Poor People Lawyer”? Have a listen to the new single in the clip above.
