Mr. Vegas’ New Visuals For ‘Ice Rain (Remix)’ A Nod To Dancehall’s Golden Era: Watch
On Friday, Dancehall superstar Mr. Vegas dropped the brand new visuals for Ice Rain (Remix), a track produced by himself, ZJ Rush, and legendary producer/selector Bobby Konders of Massive B.
Released last month on Konders’ Brooklyn-based Massive B Records, the remixed tune now boasts a hot new video that takes dancehall music back to the essence.
In an apparent nod to the golden era of dancehall music, Vegas is seen rocking a Bermuda Casual Kangol, a Poetic Justice tee shirt, a flannel around his waist, and a boombox atop his shoulder, recalling LL Cool J’s classic look from his Radio days.
The video, directed by Tizzy Tokyo, was filmed partially in Los Angeles and partially in Kingston, Jamaica. Expertly choreographed by South Florida-based Khaja J, the new visuals flaunt her Karizma Dancers crew getting down with some vintage moves, as cued by the selector.
“Ice Rain has the authentic dancehall sound that has been missing in the space. The video will definitely showcase the great vibe that dancehall is known for,” Mr. Vegas said in a release.
“Ice Rain by Mr. Vegas hits with original dancehall vibes!!” added Bobby Konders.
